In winter, ski at family-friendly local resorts Säfsen and Romme, and get cosy in the sauna or by the fire.
About the property: This historic building once housed seven families of charcoal makers, hence its name, the charcoal barracks (Kolakasern). It is modernised, and has a sauna, 9 kayaks, 1 rowing boat, wood-burning stove, balcony, and beautiful view of the lake. Plenty of windows make the space bright and airy throughout. The house offers privacy, with no neighbours visible. Activities are easy to access, and the nearest shop and petrol station is in Sunnansjö, a 10 minute drive.
The house is split into three flats, which each have their own bathroom. Two of them have a full kitchen.
The upstairs flat sleeps up to 9 people. It has a large dining area where around 18 people can sit together, a large balcony, smart TV, wood-burning stove, kitchen, living room, four bedrooms and a bathroom. Toys and games are available for children to enjoy.
The larger downstairs flat sleeps 8, plus 1 infant. It has a deck area, smart TV, kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, a crib, and bathroom.
The smaller downstairs flat sleeps 4. It has two bedrooms and a bathroom.
Guest access: You can access the whole house except for locked storage areas. At your own risk, you can use the sauna, kayaks, rowing boat, lifejackets and garden games. Other things to note:
We don't charge a cleaning fee. Instead, we kindly ask that you clean and tidy at the end of your stay - see the house manual for details. Please recycle - see the house manual. No electric car charging is available. Do not attempt to plug charging cables into the house, it will cause a power cut and is a fire hazard.
