It is a charming and peaceful town located among the Fortore hills in the heart of Molise.
Its territory is bathed by Lake Occhito, an artificial lake, known for being the second largest artificial reservoir in Europe in terms of capacity.
After the 10th century, the town was surrounded by walls, the remains of which can still be recognized among the houses of Via Rua Lunga.
The monuments and places worthy of note are certainly:
- the Convent of the Capuchin Friars, where it has
San Pio lived during his studies, where we also find a museum;
- the birthplace of the Venerable Father Raffaele
