Family break
I had booked this for myself, my 2 daughters and friends for a 2night break.The accommodation was spacious, comfy beds, but house needs some TLC and a deep clean. The bannisters were filthy and grimy, the stair ballistrades were dirty and dusty, the shower trap was full of thick congealed hair and stunk , i had to remove this as the water wasnt draining away. There was no pull cord on one of the bedroom blinds to open, close it. The ceiling light in another bedroom had dangerous exposed electrical fitting, the fridge temperature dial and light was hanging off and it had been tapped up previously.
Part of the stair carpet was loose which we noticed when our friend who is 6mths pregnant caught her foot on it. There was no ironing board as listed, all the changeover washed laundry was hung on a clothes airer to dry outside the top floor bedroom. Not ideal for incoming guests. We followed instructions for heating and hot water but took about an hour for hot water for showers. On a plus noteThe house is located within a short walk to elephant and castle tube so great access into the city. I would have expected much higher standards for this property for what we paid, the description and photos on the site. Its a shame i cant upload pictures from our stay. I own and run a cleaning company in Cornwall and have some high end clients, domestic and holiday changeovers. I would expect higher standard than what we were faced with for a London property of this price.
