We loved this place.
Even though it was late May, we just missed the heatwave - always seems to happen that way. When we arrived we felt a little chilly, but the heating soon made things feel cosy and more homely.
The cottage is tastefully and attractively decorated and kitted out really well with a wealth of high quality kitchen items, and even thoughtfully selected books. There’s a cafetière, a lovely glass tea pot with an infuser (for leaf tea or tea bags), Habitat crockery and heavy cutlery I enjoyed using. Nothing feels as though it’s cast offs deemed good enough for a holiday let. There’s a breakfast bar and desk as well as a comfy L-shaped settee, and the lounge lights have dimmer switches..
Take your own wood if you want to make a few log fires, and maybe a lighter too (I’m sure there are things there that we didn’t find in our two night stay).
The long, deep bath and plentiful hot water were perfect for a long soak at the end of the day.
Contact with the hosts was all automated and it worked very smoothly.
Thank you very much for a lovely stay. We’ll be back.
