Mariapfarr is a ski paradise, there are the nearby ski areas of Grosseck-Speiereck with 50 kilometers of slopes, Fanningberg with 30 kilometers of slopes, Katschberg-Aineck with 80 kilometers of slopes and Obertauern with over 100 kilometers of slopes. This Lungau holiday resort also offers promising mountain tours, hiking routes, guided ski tours and cross-country ski trails. Cross-country skiing fans are also well looked after, as they enjoy the large cross-country ski trail network and the snow-sure high-altitude trail in Mariapfarr Lignitztal.
