Ponte Della Valle with beautiful private lake is nestled right up to the banks of the Sermenza River, Valsesia, leading into the famous white water rafting & kayaking Sesia River. 9 mins to local ski hill Alpe di Mera & 25 mins to World-Class Alagna Ski-Resort with 180km of pisted runs, part of the Monta Rosa ski area-on the same ski-pass as Gressoney & Champoluc. 30 mins to Lago d'Orta & 1.15hr to Milan Airport.

Valsesia Valley and the Mill: spectacular with rough edges!

The Valsesia Valley and the old Mill, in terms of space and amenities, are spectacular, authentic, with rough edges. Major pluses include the beautiful location, with its own swimming water, the enormous living room and the beautiful bathroom. It’s a perfect spot to start all kinds of trips nearby, f.e. to Lago d’Orta (canoen), hiking in the mountains (take a skilift up) or visit the Holy Mountain. The owners are lovely people, who make you feel right at home and are stand-by to help or answer any questions. They have only recently begun this magnificent renovation project. A second toilet/bathroom is missing, and there are some other improvements to be made. So don’t expect everything to be perfectly finished like a hotel, the Mill is rustic. We had a fantastic time two weeks, relaxing experience in the beautiful nature.

Characterful alpine mill

The Mill is a charming property in a beautiful location. We had a very enjoyable holiday there.The owners are in the process of restoring this large old mill. The rental area is on 2 floors of the six floor building, with the owners living in the upper floor and other parts yet to be restored.The owners have been careful to retain as much of the original building as they can. This means that there are some interesting idiosyncrasies.Some of the features listed were not yet completed at the time of our visit but didn’t significantly detract from our stay.The river can be reached from the house, down some steep steps. It’s a small mountain river, with deep pools and small rapids, perfect for wild swimming.The hosts were very helpful and friendly, they solved a couple of minor problems promptly and helped book a fantastic local restaurant for us.The Sessia valley is very beautiful, dotted with charming alpine villages and interesting small towns. We went for some great walks into some high valleys and the small ski resort at the top of the valley gives access to high level walking on Monte Rossa.We would be happy to return here.
