Had a great few days here relaxing and enjoying the local area. Loved having a wood burning stove and a spacious living and cooking area.

Wonderful Quiet Spot

We had a lovely time and the place was clean, quiet and well kept. Comfortable beds and plenty of space for our 3 kids.

Overall impression was a pleasant safe space to stay. We were very comfortable and had a had everything we needed. The only thing to be prepared for are the odd shower set ups. One has poor pressure but wild body jets! And the other was kind of standup handheld shower thing which was a little awkward. But it worked!! Would definitely stay again!

Enjoyable holiday in beautiful setting

A peaceful, beautiful location and we enjoyed the historic property. Well furnished, good kitchen supplies and we appreciated that there was heating on in the downstairs bathroom to dry our towels. We were not able to find a tin opener which would have been useful.

Peaceful, comfortable and lovely

We so enjoyed our stay. The space had everything we needed to be comfortable, and we especially appreciated the solarium for quiet mornings and sunsets. Great launchpad for exploring the area, like the beautiful beaches, Timoleague Abbey, and the towns nearby (we made it to Kinsale, Clonakilty and Courtmacsherry). Delightful dinner at Monk’s Lane. If you’re lucky, you’ll also meet a charming little guy named Tommy — a confident doggy host who was ready to make friends.

Wonderfully rustic and charming, yet still comfortable and well appointed. If you’re looking for a home base to explore County Cork or just relax by the fire with friends and conversation, look no further than the Argideen river lodges. We loved the massive windows for light and fresh air during the day and the sunroom was an absolute treat. Timoleague also felt like a little hidden gem among the towns flooded with tourists in mid June; the fish and chips at Padjoe’s was the best we had from Dublin to Killarney on this trip. The upstairs shower would definitely be tricky for anyone with limited mobility and there are quirks as with any old property, but it’s been lovingly and judiciously modernized in the important ways. Overall we loved our stay and can’t wait to return with more friends!
