The Neighborhood:
Breskens is the maritime seaside resort par excellence! That is not so difficult with its own fishing port and modern marina with 850 berths. The arrival and departure of the huge ocean-going vessels on the Westerschelde ensure that a day at the beach here is never boring. Wherever you cross the dune, you always quickly reach the wide sandy beach where a spacious spot for sunbathing awaits you. In addition, you can enjoy the many sailing yachts setting sail from or to the marina. From the beach, walk straight into the center where you will find numerous terraces and eateries.

At the ferry starts the 'Loopplijn'. An attractive route with a maritime character and playful elements that connects the marina, the fishing port and the center. You encounter all the good things of the fishing village: the fishing port and marina, fish restaurants and cozy terraces, stores and boutiques, the Fisheries Museum and at the end, near the beach, the viewpoint with a panoramic view of the Westerschelde and the village. At the port you will find a maritime deck with playful elements. Here the kids have a great time on and around the giant sardine can.

There are two large supermarkets in Breskens.

Thanks to a network of bike paths and signposted routes, you can discover hidden creeks, beautiful polder dikes, proud farms and surprising small villages by bike or on foot. Cycling along the coast you can reach the fashionable seaside resort of Knokke in an hour. Or take the ferry to Vlissingen and the beautiful old town of Middelburg. From Breskens you can also take the bus to Bruges (40km). Even a day trip to Ghent or Antwerp is definitely recommended.
