Shepard's Hut with Countryside view

Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Norfolk, a remarkable 106-year-old Shepherd's hut stands.

This hut, once a sturdy horse-drawn cart capable of pulling up to twelve people when trains faltered, has been lovingly converted into a cosy, comfortable apartment. Brought over from it’s original home in Yorkshire, this Shepherd's hut stands as a testament to the region's rich history and enduring charm.

Stepping inside, you are greeted with modern amenities thoughtfully integrated into the rustic framework, offering a unique blend of history and luxury. The exterior retains its original character, evoking a sense of nostalgia and wonder.

At the front of the hut, the original cart seat remains intact, providing an idyllic vantage point for watching the sun set. As night falls, the seat transforms into a stargazer's haven, where you can marvel at the twinkling constellations in the clear Norfolk sky.

This Shepherd's hut is more than just a place to stay; it's a journey back in time, enriched with stories of resilience and tradition, all while offering the comforts of the present day.
Our Holiday Pods are a truly fantastic experience for a perfect holiday or break within easy reach of The George and Dragon for a drink and superb food. We have five Pods available to rent.

Our Five Pods offer a range of sleeping arrangement to suite everyone. Pods 1 – 3 can sleep four people, Pod 4 sleeps up to 2 and Pod 5 sleeps up to 6. Whilst Pod 5 is a 6 birth pod, you can request pod 4, our joining pod for larger families/parties!

Pods 1,2,3 and 5 are single storey, open plan holiday pods and have a living area with Freeview TV, double sofa bed and French doors leading to a garden and decking area complete with hot tub. They all have a lovely Kitchen and Dining area with breakfast bar, hob, microwave and fridge. They also all have a separate bedroom with double bed and a shower room with shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail. Pod 4 is still great but has a few less facilities. Pod 4 now has a Hot Tub!

Electric central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included together with a great welcome pack. The pods have a lawned garden with enclosed decking and garden furniture together with 2-acre landscaped grounds (shared with other properties on-site). Private parking is available for one car.
These pretty and unique holiday pods are situated in a meadow neighbouring the A146 Loddon to Norwich Road, and just a short stroll away from the pub.

Where better to explore Norfolk and Suffolk, within easy reach of historic Norwich, many local market towns and the Norfolk Broads. Centrally situated with good bus links to all these great holiday venues.

Explore the Norfolk Broads by visiting Wroxham and enjoy its riverside cafés, pubs and boating activity where you can hire a boat or take a river trip to explore The Broads, abundant with bird and wildlife. The whole of the neighbouring area is ideal for both walkers and nature lovers and is close to RSPB Strumpshaw Fen.

Many National trust properties are within easy reach.
