Located just a short drive to two the region's most prized eisure lakes, you can swim and relax on sandy beaches, surrounded by nature.

Constructed of local stone some 150 years ago, the house is large and bright, and simply but comfortably furnished.

You will an environment of rustic French living combined with comfort and convenience.

Located in a small and friendly hamlet just a few kilometres from the little villages of Roussines and Massignac, Les Volets Verts is a beautiful, authentic property providing the perfect base for you to explore and enjoy this enchanting region.

Nestled amidst woodlands, forests and rolling hills, Les Volets Verts comfortably accommodates up to 7 guests and there is also a cot for an infant.

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and one on the first.

Bedroom 1, on the ground floor, has a large double bed and one single bed. There is an ensuite shower room with WC and basin.

Bedroom 2 has two single beds and is also located on the ground floor.

Bedroom 3 is on the first floor and has a king sized bed.
There is another shower room with WC and basin.

The large open plan 'kitchen-dining-living room' is perfect for family and friends to congregate, together in the same place even if engaged in different conversations/activities.

The log burner and kitchen is at one end, the dining table in the middle, and the comfortable sofas and television at the other.

There is a terrace and secluded garden at the front of the property, and across the small path, to the side of the house, is a private two acre field. This belongs to the property and is perfect for running wild or camping out under the stars!

Les Volets Verts is only 50 minutes by car from Limoges Bellegarde airport. It is an easy drive with much of the journey by motorway.

The region is popular with wild water swimmers, ramblers and cyclists, and is truly stunning.

Steeped in history, you are spoiled for choice when it comes to sightseeing. Within 25 to 60 minutes driving distance is a selection of stunning medieval towns and famous landmarks. Some of our favourites are Rochefoucauld, Rochouchuart, and Confolens. Nearer to home you will find Montembeouf and the larger Montbron.

There is a large English speaking population in the Charente. Many have retired to the area or have relocated to establish various businesses, including cafés and restaurants.
At both of our nearest leisue lakes, (located at Pressignac and St. Mathieu), the hosts of Le Grange café/bar/restaurant and Souleil Couchant café/bar/restaurant are very friendly Brits.
This means that they tend to be open during the 12noon-14:00hrs shut down that's typical in France, and especially in rural areas.
