We rented this chalet for a weekend ski trip to Beech Mountain. The master bedroom had either a king or a large queen bed and an attached bathroom with stand-up shower. The 2nd bedroom had a queen size bed. Both rooms had plenty of room to put your luggage and be comfortable. There was a 2nd bathroom on the main floor that had a tub / shower. The open living / kitchen / dining area had a small table with four chairs, fully stocked kitchen with everything you'd need (we didn't cook while here, but I'm sure everything you need is there), a pull out sofa, a rocking chair, and a lazy boy chair. The fireplace made the room nice & cozy. There was a nice TV with cable and wifi. We did not have cell service here (T-Mobile) and the wifi worked great & really came in handy. The roomy loft area had a twin trundle bed with a pull out twin bed. There is a large deck outside with chairs and a grill. Room for probably 6 people to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Below the main level was a crawl space, accessible from the outdoors, with a washer & dryer. The first night we were there, we had trouble lighting the fireplace. Before we went to dinner, I emailed the owner and he had someone come over to the house to get the fire lit. Upon returning from dinner, the fire was going and took the nip out of the cool air. Overall, this place was perfect for our family of four. This house would be comfortable with 6 people and if you have two children they could sleep on the pull out sofa making enough room for 8 people. On the morning we were leaving, I went outside and there were about 6 deer walking right by the house! The house is convenient to everything on Beech Mountain. Banner Elk and Sugar Mountain are only a few miles away, I would not hesitate to rent this house if you plan on going to either Beech or Sugar. The roads could be a bit tricky if there is snow / ice, there were caution lights at the bottom of Beech that stated, "4WD or snow chains required when flashing". Just an FYI, this house is above that zone with the flashing light. For us, we had a great trip even though the weather did not cooperate entirely (rain & skiing just don't entirely mix). We rented Presidents Day weekend, which is near the end of the ski season. A bonus for us was we ran into some friends from our hometown who also rented a house on the same road about a half a mile away. Our family created some memories that will last a lifetime in this Chalet. Rent it for yours & create your own!
