I fell in love with Vaujany and the French Alps because they offer that rare combination of breathtaking scenery, outdoor adventure and a wonderfully relaxed way of life.
Our chalet is very much a home rather than simply a rental property, and we love spending time here with family, friends and our dogs. In winter, we enjoy skiing and everything that comes with life in a traditional Alpine village. In summer, Vaujany is just as special - with hiking, cycling, swimming, mountain lakes and long sunny days surrounded by incredible scenery.
I love being able to share the chalet with guests and hope they enjoy it in the same way we do…. somewhere to switch off, spend time together and make wonderful memories in the mountains.

Vaujany is one of those special places that manages to combine the charm and character of a traditional French Alpine village with access to a world-class mountain playground.
The chalet sits in a beautiful, peaceful position on the Route du Col du Sabot, surrounded by mountains and nature, with spectacular views across the valley. It feels wonderfully private and tranquil, while still being within easy reach of the village and its restaurants, shops and excellent facilities.
In winter, Vaujany provides direct access to the vast Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine ski area. In summer, the landscape completely transforms, with incredible walking and cycling, waterfalls, mountain lakes and some of the most beautiful scenery in the French Alps.
What we love most is the sense of space and tranquillity. Sitting outside with a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine as the sun goes down, looking out across the mountains, is hard to beat.

What makes our chalet special is its combination of spectacular location, space, privacy and the feeling of staying in a genuine Alpine home.
The mountain and valley views are a real highlight. The chalet’s elevated position creates a wonderful sense of being surrounded by the Alps, and the outdoor spaces are perfect for enjoying the scenery, sunshine and fresh mountain air. Direct access from our garden to wonderful hiking trails in the Écrins National Park creates opportunities for connecting with nature very easily.
Inside, the chalet is warm, comfortable and designed for spending time together - whether that’s relaxing after a day skiing, enjoying a long family dinner or simply curling up and watching the mountains outside.
It’s also a property we genuinely use and love ourselves, so we’ve tried to create the kind of place we would want to stay - comfortable, welcoming and well equipped, without losing the character and charm of a mountain chalet.
While Vaujany is famous for its skiing, one of the things that makes the chalet particularly special to us is that it is a true year-round retreat. Winter is magical, but summer in the mountains - with warm days, incredible scenery, hiking, cycling and outdoor living - may be our favourite time of all.
