La Cantera, South Wales. (Close to Brecon and Bike Park Wales)

We are the Steele family! Ryan and Esther Steele, and our children Francesca and Jesse. Esther grew up in the village of Heolgerrig, Merthyr Tydfil, whilst Ryan grew up in South Eastern Spain. Both Esther and Ryan have taken their love for all things Spanish and added it to make La Cantera what it is today; a little piece of Spain in the South Wales Valleys. The family home is built on a quarry, and with La Cantera being the direct Spanish translation for the quarry, a dream was born when the family moved to this beautiful property in 2017, and began planning a holiday let soon after in 2021. Ryan is a fluent Spanish speaker and Esther is very competent at German having grown up taking annual holidays to Germany to see family. Both Francesca and Jesse attend Welsh-speaking school and have done so since nursery age. The family loves going on bike-rides together and Ryan and Esther have a mutual love for gardening. Francesca is a wonderful singer and Jesse hopes to play rugby for Wales. The family loves hosting because it allows people to experience this little piece of paradise in the heart of Merthyr Tydfil.

The property boasts wonderful views of the South Wales Valleys, which is a unique selling point for the accommodation. The property has also been exceptionally well thought out - it caters to every need imaginable. Already awarded Superhost Status on Airbnb multiple times, and 'exceptional' status on Booking.com, both Esther and Ryan are incredibly proud of what they have achieved from a little garage conversion!

The stunning views! The hot tub, fire pit and log burner are also major attractions. The property has been decorated to a very high standard, and is very modern. But above all, La Cantera simply has something special without being able to put a label on why - you just have to visit to experience it for yourself!
