Nob hill is THE place in Albuquerque. We are just minutes away from the "Big I" (I-40 and I-25) and about as many from the Albuquerque Sunport (ABQ) . Nob Hill offers a great choice of restaurants, night life, movies, etc. and close to public transportation. We are steps away from the "Mother Road", Route 66.
UNM is within walking distance, including the acoustically perfect Popejoy Hall offers live theatre and symphony year round. The fabulous downtown area boasting the beautifully restored 1920's era KIMO theatre (pueblo deco), night life, city and county government, the train (including AMTRAK's Southwest Chief). Rest assured that if ever needed, NM's biggest and best hospitals are very accessible.
Sports? The local sports facilities (Lobo Stadium, the AAA baseball Isotopes, and the world famous "PIT" for college basketball, and indoor and outdoor UNM Tennis facilities (the "bubble" and the Linda Estes Tennis complex, respectively) are all closer than 2 miles from the ABQ Casita. Fewer cities have the quantity and quality of public golf facilities than Albuquerque. Specifically, UNM North and South (UNM Championship) golf courses and Puerta del Sol are with a few miles.
Biking? We are even closer to the Bicycle Boulevard than we are to Route 66. It connects to bike paths throughout the city, including a path that follows the Rio Grande through the Paseo del Bosque trail.. We have two well maintained bicycles, locks, and helmets for your use (just sign the waiver, please).
Hot-air ballooning? Quite literally, there is nothing in the world like the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta (AIBF). If you have never witnessed a "Mass Ascension" , "Special Shapes Rodeo", "Balloon Glow", or the "Gordon Bennett Gas Race", then you need to put AIBF on your bucket list and get to Albuquerque.
Hang-gliding? Sandia Crest is world-class and also offers creditable skiing facilities. The lift is used year-round and offers mountain biking.
