Wonderful vacation

We were on the hunt for a house with a private pool that was large enough to let our parents finally see their grandkids after 6 long months of COVID-19 distancing. This house was perfect. We could have stayed for 2 weeks! Outside was peaceful, clean, relaxing ... loved the beautiful pool, the firepit, grill, and horses. Inside the house was clean and just the right size for us. The beds were comfortable as well, and the linens and towels seemed to be great quality. Thanks so much! We may be back again :-))

Complete Quiet but fun!

This place was/is amazing, the rooms were all nice and tidy, both TVs were nice too with the addition to the basement which is a play room with a pool table (39-1) is my score 😃. Rachel and I had a funny moment for the upstair bathroom, I literally thought it didn't work, FYI for those that are staying after me, it the Spout you pull down for the shower head lol. The pool was very very nice, although really cold but I'm use to the cold. Love it!! I left a few beach balls for the family 😄. Overall my stay was amazing. Thank you King family for having us over! It was a blast and hopefully we'll see you guys again in the future.

Home away from home!

We were thrilled with the house. It was a great home away from home!! There're some little details that make this guesthouse a unique experience: from those chocolate bombons at the dinner table beside a sparkling juice, the coffee station to the bathroom amenities & unexpected laundry and dish detergents. Ah, almost forgot about the pool & bathroom towels that are a huge plus! Bed was spotless and wrinkles, bathroom towels were folded and well placed. I have worked in hospitality industry for over15 years and I can tell that Mrs King and her family take care and proudly serve a 5 star service to every guest. Don't worry about bed linen, towels, pots pans, silverware, china, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, dish soap, detergen or softener... not even pool toys!!!! You just have everything! I had really bad experience before with another place/ another company, but this was an espectacular stay! Keep the good work, Silva's Family & Friends!

Beautiful home with Farms all around

We loved our time at the King Family home. The house is big, beautiful and family friendly. You can’t beat a night swim in the pool followed by s’mores over an open fire. Easy to reach all attractions Amish, too! We are sad to leave.

Great home to rent!

A group of us, 7 altogether, rented this beautiful home in a quiet country setting near Lancaster. It was beautifully decorated and the owners went above our expectations! The pool was lovely and we enjoyed it every day that we could. Our grandchildren came and stayed overnight for one night and loved being able to swim in the pool, too! It was a very relaxing vacation for all of us!! I rode my bicyle around the neighborhood- beautiful homes among the Amish community who ride right past the house in their buggies. We shopped at the outlets, Home Goods, and visited the Strasburg Railroad, Kitchen Kettle Village and other little shops along the way. I love the Lancaster area- the immaculate farms, beautiful stone houses, and the shopping- all within a 20 minute drive. Everything was as described and we loved being at Rachel and Gideon's rental home!

Excellent experience!

Great home. Clean, peaceful neighborhood, owners quick to respond. Beautiful home. First rental I've had that I didn't get black on my socks or feet after walking around, which proves they mop the floors! Very happy with this home.

Family Vacation

This house is amazing!!! The house is true to the pictures. We have rented houses for years for our vacations and this ranked #2 as the nicest house we've rented (#1 was on a beach). It was very clean and all amenities were provided including a variety of spices for cooking and blankets to snuggle with while watching TV. The TVs were smart TVs that included Amazon Prime, Netflix & other apps! We had brought a firestick with us but had no need for it with the bonuses on the TVs. The pool was absolutely amazing (we brought beach towels but there were pool towels provided) and we greatly enjoyed swimming almost everyday of our trip. The owners also provide a Brita water pitcher in the fridge which made my daughter very happy! I greatly enjoyed having coffee every morning on the sunporch after using the Keurig which is provided along with cups (normally I have to bring my own). The living room provides plenty of seating for the whole family which we enjoyed when watching movies in the evening. The only "issue" we had with the property was the cable remote was missing from the living room. We contacted the owners concerning this and they apologized and brought over a replacement within the hour. The owners are soooo very nice and great to deal with and have a quick response time. In the past we have had concerns with other houses and the owners either never responded or took days to respond (absolutely not the case with the Kings). This is a quiet rural area with shopping (Walmart +) within 10 minutes. We enjoyed visiting Intercourse (amazing little village with tons of shops ), Bird In Hand (Plain & Simple Farm has an amazing BBQ restaurant & buggy ride) & Lancaster (30 min drive). Gettysburg is about 1.5 hrs from the house and Hershey is about 1 hour. There are so many farmer's markets, and shops in the area. This house is amazing and offers everything for a wonderful vacation requiring very little. We travel somewhere new every year but if we ever were to return to the Lancaster area we would definitely book this house!!!

Beautiful Family Home

The house is situated in a quiet, rural neighbourhood in the heart of Amish country, with the background sound that of horses pulling Amish buggies. The house is well situated for local trips in Lancaster County as well as providing a good base for exploring Philadelphia and Gettysburg. The large, well equipped home has everything you could possible expect. The pool is a stunning feature which made our three children’s stay. Rachel and Gideon, the owners, are welcoming with nothing too much trouble for them. There is an accessible bedroom and bathroom as you enter the property which makes it ideal for anyone with mobility problems. We highly recommended this property. Andrew and Rebecca Wheeler

PA Paradise!

Believe it when the reviewers of this home say that the photos do not do this home justice, because no photos could. The home is spacious, gorgeous, and spotless. But more than that, it feels like home! My clan normally plans lots of day trips on our vacays. So we look for nice homes that can accommodate day trips. Hence, we chose this house. But other than Hershey and Philadelphia, the day trips went out the window....there was simply too much fun to be had staying “home.” The pool was a huge hit, especially as we arrived during the heat wave that hit the east coast in late July. We are returning! So, please don’t book “our” week! I highly recommend this home for moderately large groups. We were 5 adults and 4 children ages 1-15. There was plenty of room for all of us to sleep, play, and even get some quiet time. If you are looking for a vacation home in this area, this is the one! The owners are wonderful!! They go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. They are easy to talk with about anything from needs to advice on a great place to eat....like Shady Maple Smorgasbord....Weds is prime rib! This is NOT what you may have experienced at other smorgasbords, this place is fantastic, just like the home! I could go on and on, but let me just wish you as wonderful a vacation as we had in this PA Paradise!

JULY 4TH HOLIDAY

Warm & welcoming. This home is perfect for large families. Very very clean. Nice details/ decorations and soft spotless sheets on all beds. The accommodations are as exactly described. One plus is the first level bedroom and full bathroom. We enjoyed cooking all of our meals and gathering around the kitchen and pool everyday. Pool toys and grill made pool days everday. We celebrated the 4th of July, our daughter's surprise proposal at the pool, an impromptu engagement party and my aunt's 83rd birthday. We had family from all over USA ages 5-83. Location is deep in the Amish Country, nice area a bit far from stores but everthing is about 30 minutes out. The King family responded quickly to any questions or issues. Great house, great people. Family reunion

This location and house was a perfect spot for a family reunion! It was a beautiful place, away from traffic and tourists distractions. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for separate family members, a pool and combined kitchen and dining area for dinners together as well as family seating and activities in the living areas and in the basement! All around it was perfect for a family gathering of cousins who hadn’t seen one another in more than 10 years. It was a great choice of location and house..with exceedingly gracious and conscientious owners. Thank you!

We will absolutely be back! It's the little things that made this trip a blast!

First of all, this house is AMAZING! I have nothing negative to say and I post a lot of reviews after travel. The pictures are great but when we arrived, the house was way above our expectations. Rachel was easy to work with and very sweet. The moment I saw the house online, I sent her email to call me and she did. Booking was super easy and she walked me through the process. We were celebrating my Mom's 80th Birthday with family that drove from Maryland. They drove a huge RV and there was plenty of driveway space to park it. Inside was very spacious and had a room for everyone. Super clean with everything you need to start cooking and relaxing. One small thing that made my day... I was making a HUGE canister of lemonade for the party. I forgot to bring my lemon squeezer. I thought I was going to have to run back out to Wal-Mart. I searched the cabinets one more time and there it was! I lemon squeezer! I was able to squeeze my lemons and make fresh orange juice. It's the little things. The grounds of the house were very well kept. In the backyard, a HUGE pool, grill, fire pit, tables, chairs and umbrella. My son loved the pool toys and beach towels were a plus. There are no TV's in any of the bedrooms which turned out to not be problem at all. The whole family watched movies in the family room on the big sectional sofa. Personally, I think this is a cool idea for creating more family time together. There is a huge TV in the family room and a TV in the basement. Speaking of the basement.... I didn't see my son the whole week. He stayed in the basement the entire week. Nice pool table, chairs and even some toys. We had tickets to Sight and Sound which is only 30 minutes away from the house. Wal-Mart is 15 min away. The best restaurant was Shady Maple Smorgasbord. Its buffet with a HUGE store downstairs. Only 7 min away. What else can I say? This house made our trip memorable. Nothing like being able to host your family for the weekend and everyone feels comfortable and relaxed. Thank You Rachel for the nice treats and grape juice. I jokingly told Rachel I'd love to buy this house. See you soon! We'll be back for sure!
