Splendid location, ideal accommodation for two couples.

Couldn't fault the place, everything was perfect, two king size beds with on suites. Lovely lounge/kitchen area with views, very secure, comfy and quiet. We had a wonderful 4 days here and would definitely use this place and STAYS YORK again.

Lovely apartment in walking distance of most attractions

This is the second time we’ve stayed in Rydale House especially for the Christmas market, Castle view is a lovely spacious apartment, well equipped, within walking distance of York city, Christmas market, shambles in fact most of the attractions, only thing missing were Christmas decorations which would have added a warm Christmassy feeling.

Great stay!

Stayed originally for 2 nights booked in York in this stunning apartment, but had such a good couple of days wanted another and lucky for us it was empty that day so booked a further day! Absolute top line accommodation - very modern, spacious and the views from the 5th floor to die for! Great location to central York and would 200% stay again when we get a chance.

Perfect stay

We really loved the apartment. Beautifully furnished, clean, quiet, well equipped and in a great location. We have stayed in several Ryedale House apts and this ranks alongside the best. Slightly odd that the sofas face away from the great views and vaguely annoying that Netflix etc didn’t work. Double parking space is an added bonus. Will return.

Lovely Apartment

We stayed for 2 nights at Castle Outlook, York Stays gave us comprehensive instructions on arrival procedure etc, The apartment was nice and clean when we arrived and the location ideal with a short walk to the centre of York. The tandem parking space was very useful and there was a lovely view from the lounge and main bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked with quality pans and crockery, the apartment has modern bathrooms and comfy beds. We would love to visit again as there is a lot to do in York, would certainly book through York Stays again and found this apartment ideal for visiting York.

Great location Great Views Secure Parking But let down with maintenance issues in bathrooms

Location was amazing with a great view from all rooms. Underfloor heating was good This apartment was let down by a few maintenance issues the bathrooms 2 out of 3 not able to use due to extremely hot temperatures that could not be turned down We all had to share which was not ideal as en-suite. A broken window door that could not be open The beds we all found uncomfortable and didn’t have great nights sleep in both rooms. The sofa had a couple of large stains on it and needed a good clean We would not return to this apartment

Hi Dawn, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the apartment’s excellent location, the views from all rooms, and the underfloor heating. We’re very sorry to learn that your stay was impacted by several maintenance and comfort issues. The problems you’ve highlighted regarding the bathroom temperatures, the broken window door, the condition of the sofa, and the comfort of the beds are not reflective of the standard we aim to provide. We regret that these issues affected your overall experience to the extent that you would not choose to return, and we’re sorry we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Mid week 2 day Christmas break.

Three of us stayed for two nights in mid December. The apartment is well equipped, very large, comfortable with outstanding views. Ryedale house is a great location for York with secure parking. No noise at all from outside, have to say excellent. Only issue was on arrival couldn't access the car park due to the provided car park fob not working. Caused a little problem however Dawn on the reception desk sorted our problem and gained us access. Shower in second bedroom en suite was too hot and unable to change temperature. Not a major problem as there are three bathrooms. When we come to York again would definitely stay here again.

Great weekend, great location and apartment

This is the 2nd time with stayed in an apparent in Ryedale House and I can honestly say from start to finish the customer service from Stays York is fantastic. It’s clear and confirms everything you need to know about your stay including arrival and leaving instructions. I had reason to contact them prior to the stay and they respond quickly and don’t make you feel like you’re bothering them. The apartment itself was lovely, clean and very spacious. The outlook was great overlooking the river and at Clifford’s Tower. Due to the lovely weather and the apartment not having any lightweight nets/curtains at the windows, in the main living area, you couldn’t block out the sun at all and it made the apartment very hot. This coupled with the main window being broken, it was difficult to cool it down. This is only a very small criticism but wouldn’t stop me staying there again, I would just considered the time of year. In terms of location, you couldn’t be more central. A 2 minute walk into the city, close to one of the wall entrances and surrounded by lots of lovely restaurants. Overall fantastic and highly recommended

Great apartment in the heart of York

Great apartment well located in the heart of York, 5 min walk to the Shambles. Lovely views from 5th floor. Inside the apartment is clean and modern with everything you’d need. Easy to find with private parking and easy access to lifts from car park. Only thing I’d improve would be some curtains in main living area, whilst the views are great it’d be nice to close them at night. Check in was pretty smooth only thing I’d call out is that the key safe is named differently to what is stated in instructions. This caused a bit of a delay as there are two cupboards full of key safes! This would be an easy fix. All in all would definitely recommend for a stay in York.

Impressive Tower View in York

This was a return trip to Ryedale House for the family, having stayed 2 years previously. The Outlook was a definite upgrade to the previous apartment. This apartment came with 2 parking spaces but these were of the tandem style, so in effect it was just a long parking bay and narrow too, so when cars parked in the adjoining spaces it was a really tight squeeze to get in / out of the car. The spaces need to be bigger! For the first week of our holiday the temperatures outside were in the mid 30's and the apartment quickly heated up, made worse by the large volume of glass in the kitchen / dining area and the fact that there weren't any blinds to shield the sun. The view was very good though. It was however disappointing that in the ensuite bathroom for the bedroom nearest the kitchen there was a significant bad (drain like) smell after a day. This was reported to York Stays who recommended running the sink taps for a bit but this did not make the smell disappear. which basically rendered the ensuite useless, so the family bathroom had to be utilised. This really needs looked into a fixed for future guests. Other than this, it was a good aprtment

Weekend city break

Fantastic apartment in an ideal city centre location. Good communication from Stays York. A few minor problems on arrival and during our stay. The key fob for the automatic gate didn’t work so we had to contact the emergency out of hours support to gain access to the building car park. Luckily another resident let us into the car park after a wait of half an hour. Once in the apartment the quality and facilities was brilliant. We were made aware that the large sliding kitchen window was broken but that wasn’t an issue. Netflix wouldn’t work on the TV and there was a pungent odour coming out of one of the shower drains. The other 2 bathrooms were fine so this wasn’t a problem.

Hi Mike, Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re really pleased to hear you loved the apartment itself and its ideal city centre location, and that you found our communication helpful overall. We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused on arrival with the gate fob and the delay accessing the car park. This is certainly not the experience we aim to provide, and we appreciate your patience while our out-of-hours team assisted. Your comments regarding the Netflix access and the odour from one of the shower drains have been noted and will be passed on to our maintenance team for investigation and resolution. We’re glad these issues didn’t detract too much from your stay and that you still found the apartment’s quality and facilities to be excellent. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience, and we hope to welcome you back to York in the future! Kind regards, Emily Stays York

some missing

We couldn't find a pot when we wanted to cook, there were stains on the glasses and plates, we had to wash them all over again, the cordless vacuum cleaner would run for a minute and then shut off, so we couldn't vacuum the house, the sliding door in the living room, like all the doors in the building, we couldn't close it after opening it.

Brilliant location

This was my second booking for Ryedale House. Unfortunately not as smooth as the first. Communication was not great. A broken sliding window was the problem, yet nobody let me know when I was told at 1.45 the apartment was nearly ready for me to access. I waited in reception and eventually gave up. After ringing again I was told there was a problem and an engineer would be arriving before check in time. The engineer arrived at 4.15 whilst I was having to change to go out. Luckily he managed to close it but not fixed. This was an unexpected problem I know but I was kept waiting a long time, not able to unpack as I was advised I might have to be relocated. I am hoping to book again and hope another apartment will be available.
