Relax and unwind in this 2 bedroom cottage, set in around 6.5 acres of grounds, with a pond, wooded gardens with mature trees and an orchard.

Our Gite has all of the modern home comforts, along with plenty of period charm, in a wonderful rural spot within walking distance of the town of Ambrières-les-Vallées.

The perfect French getaway for a family or group of four people to escape busy lives and immerse yourselves in nature.

This characterful cottage is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the French countryside and all it has to offer. Set in the grounds of a larger grand house, the gîte has been lovingly restored to a very high standard, with all amenities and a well-equipped kitchen, with dishwasher, fan oven and induction hob.
There are two large double bedrooms, with beautiful French beds. The attic space also has a single bed so could sleep three if needed.
The newly installed shower room with walk in large shower is a little bit of luxury to help you unwind and pamper yourself!
All bed linen and fluffy towels are provided, we want you to feel as though you are getting the luxury hotel treatment but in your own self catering cottage.
There is a television with access to Netflix and other channels, good high speed wifi connectivity and a few books or magazines to read and games to play as you relax.
For chilly evenings we have installed a new woodburner to create that fabulous winter cosy feel, and free firewood is provided with your booking. There is nothing better than the warmth from a roaring fire!
The kitchen is well-equipped with a double hob, oven, dishwasher and fridge. We have stocked it with spices, tea and coffee, salt and pepper and olive oil so you don’t need to bring these basics with you. Just unpack and get creating your culinary masterpieces!

In the summer months we have a small paddling style pool, (we are planning a natural swimming pool for 2026), as well as a charcoal bbq and gravel outdoor seating area, with chairs, parasols and loungers.
The town of Ambrières-les-Vallées is only a 20 minute walk away with all of its amenities. There are a couple of nice bars and restaurants too.
Just on the outskirts of town is Parc Vaux, a leisure park with an outdoor pool, tennis courts, pony trekking and canoes too, so plenty of family activities if you want to be sporty.
The area is perfect for cyclists with vélo rail paths very close to Ambrieres, this could be a stop off en route to further south or north maybe? We have 7 bikes in the barn that are free for guests to use to explore the local area.
La Bruyere is very lucky to be set in wooded grounds, the wildlife is plentiful. For those of you who love getting into a secluded, wilder environment it has lots to offer. We have deer, hares, tawny owls, turtle doves and red squirrels, amongst many other species. If you are reasonably quiet, the wildlife comes into the garden. We also have midwife toads that bleep at night, they are mostly around the main house!
We have had golden orioles in the garden in 2024, that was amazing to see and hear.
For those who love seeking out French antiques, there are many brocantes in the area, we can tell you our favourite places to go, where we sourced the furnishings for the gîte. It's Hannah's favourite pastime when not gardening!
