Quiet Thanksgiving Getaway
Wonderful, quiet beachside community in Old Florida. Townhouse was perfect size for our family of 6. Basics (hand soap, bath towels, dishes, silverware, etc.) are provided, but be sure to pack your hair drier, toilet paper, paper towels, kleenex, dish soap, laundry soap, etc. Otherwise, it's a 30 min drive (one-way) to the Piggly Wiggly in Port. St. Joe. :) Cell phone reception is not great, but Cape San Blas is the kind of place to visit if you are trying to escape. The townhouse is an easy walk to both the beach and pools. The beaches are beautiful and allow dogs on a leash. The only "bad" part of the trip were the biting midges (i.e., sand flies). They come out at dawn and before dusk and are absolutely vicious. Plan sunrises/sunsets accordingly. Only other minor issue was that the wifi router was inoperable when we arrived, but we stopped by the rental office the next morning and they gave us the number to call to get someone out to fix it. The internet company inadvertently closed our ticket without resolution, so we called back the next morning for a status update and they were out within the hour to remedy the situation. Would definitely return!
