Cancelled an hour and a half before check in.

This was a terrible experience. Planned months in advance attempted to secure an early check in from the beginning and was told we had to wait till we got closer to the check in date. Check in date arrived and still no confirmation of early check in. Finally we were given the ok to drop our bags off and come back at check in 3 hours later. When we arrived to drop off the bags there was no key in the lock box or cleaning crew to let us in. I messaged and called the host with no response. We left and went about our day. Approximately 1:30 minutes before our agreeded upon check in time I received a message in the Vrbo app that our reservation had been canceled. I never heard another word from the host and myself and my son were left without a place to stay in a foreign country. The VRBO site just uses AI which is unhelpful in this instance and I am still waiting on my refund.
