Found this great stay close to Fort Jackson where our nephew was graduating basic this is a perfect 23 miles away so if your soldier needs a place to decompress its perfect. This house was so nice - enough beds and rooms for five people, nice size kitchen to cook in and a huge backyard. There is a grill in the back yard if you are someone who likes to cook on charcoal. Host is very communicative when we needed to ask questions.Bedrooms: The primary bedroom has a king size bed and a nice huge bathroom with walk in closet. There is two queen/full size beds in one room access to the closet is tight. Then there is either a full/queen size bed in the other bed room. There is a shared bathroom for those rooms close by. Living room: nice size, tv is small and the WIFI is not that great but you are able to use the apps on the tv to watch your favorite streaming options. Couch is really not sleepable but I'm sure someone small could sleep on it. There are board games available to play with families as well.Kitchen: Great size table for four, there are extra chairs about for people to set on to eat. There is a normal coffee pot, we brought our Keurig so that is something I thought people should know about the coffee situation. There are basic cooking utensils and pots & pans. make sure you bring extra storage bags or trash bags for your trash.Laundry Room: We did use the laundry room, bring your own washing detergent and dryer sheets if you plan to wash your clothes.

Dated property but very clean and comfortable. Big fenced in yard if needed .Beds were very comfortable . Location was rural but was fine for our trips into Columbia.

About a year ago, I rented another place in preparation for my nephew's wedding. As time got closer, a little over a month before the occasion, the proprietors of the other location notified me that due to circumstances beyond their control, they could no longer accommodate me, so my search for accommodations was back on, and I found this place. It was a blessing. This is a single residence, and it is in the country, but still close to some restaurants, and grocery shopping. I liked the location because it was quiet, and the fact that it was close enough to the event, but not so close that people would try to come see me. Let's face it, I love my family, but I also like my space. The place was clean, had cook wear in the kitchen, and plenty of towels, if you need them. The proprietor responded to messages very quickly and check in and out was very easy. There were a few spiders, but keep in mind, it is a little in the country. If you want perfect, someone to hold your hand through everything, someone waiting on you hand and foot, this place may not be for you. If you want simple life living comforts, with a home like feel, this could be your best option. I really enjoyed my stay and if for some reason I need to be back in that area, I would definitely stay there again.

It's in need of some upgrades but it's clean, everything works, great hot water and very comfortable. Check in is a breeze and the kitchen is only missing a kettle (wife is British). Good place for the money and I would stay here again.

Home away from home

3 bedroom 2 bath small house that was perfect for our needs. We were only 12 miles from family we were there to visit. 100% better than getting a motel room.

Perfect for what we needed

House was perfect for the purpose of our visit - college tours. It was a little farther out than we anticipated, but that’s my own fault for not researching more. The house itself was great!

Great stay, ad described

The property was clean and as described. Plenty of space, linens, kitchen supplies. Check in process was easy and host was quick to respond after reservation was up until check in. No issues at all.

Read the listing carefully !!!!!!

We ultimately didn’t even check into the property, and ended up going to a nearby hotel instead. I didn’t cancel the reservation at the property as I’d not receive any refund anyways - and at least I could write a review. Ultimately, this was the first listing that has ever required the information this host wants. Full names of all guest, to include my minor children? An unaltered Copy of my license. I did not feel comfortable giving him all of this information, informed both him and VRBO that it was against VBRO policy to communicate outside of the secure platform. Ended up sending some variation of the information (accurate or not I won’t say). On top of that, host wants to meet you in person at check-in (also never encountered that). Says all hotels required a license and that is why the IRS requires. But I’ve never given a hotel my license either, so it added to the shadiness. Host tries to make you feel comfortable sending all of this by boasting about his “Q Level Clearance with the Department of Energy” and some story about how he got a fee from the IRS for not collecting licenses. But we felt just through email communication and the one phone call that VBRO put us on together like this situation was bad all around. I had asked to cancel the reservation and get refunded due to not wanting to provide my ID - but naturally that wasn’t allowed bc it was in the posting. So my advice - read the posting carefully. All the way to end.

Some changes needed to make

Overall the home was in a perfectly clean state. The only issue we ran into was every bed besides the master was hard as a rock with barely any cushion around a box of springs.

Nice place to stay

The house was clean when we arrived. It was a great price and location. I think the only thing we would have liked would be a few of the things you dont usually pack, such as laundry soap and more toilet paper. Otherwise it was nice being in a home rather than a hotel. The owner is very nice and had great communication.

Quiet Retreat

We were in town from PA moving our daughter back to college. We were in a bind being that all of our local kennels were booked and we needed to bring our dogs with us. This house was a gem to find. A little further out of the city than we would have liked (about 15 minutes), but an easy commute. The house was quiet, which kept the dogs calm; quite roomy, so there was plenty of space to put their crates without being in the way; and most importantly, CLEAN! And as a bonus, there was a wonderful fenced-in yard. The host was very nice and responsive whenever we needed him. We would definitely stay here again.

Worst Experience Ever For Vacation Rental Home

This was the worst experience for a vacation rental I have ever experienced. I have been renting vacation homes for a long time with different companies. The lack of communication with the owner to get combination for lockbox did not exist. I sent a message via VRBO, as well as telephoned him, on the morning of departure. He did not call me back until 1:00 P.M, and his response is that he had up to 4:00 P.M. to respond to me. My wife finally got him to allow us in at 3:00 P.M. and was told the key was under the front door mat. I was not allow to get the combination because it was used for emergencies or for the housekeeper(how inconvenient with friends==> had to hide the key outside so other people could use). The lawn was not cut(up to my ankle or higher), A lot of light bulbs was not in place, numerous dump trucks passing in front of the house all day since the end of the street was a entrance to sandpit company, the driveway was a steep angle and four inch difference between driveway surface and ground in some area(very dangerous). He then sends emails concerning stipulations about stay a hour before 4;00 P.M. that should have been on his house webpage. I also had to dispose of the garbage before leaving. even though I paid a cleaning fee. I could have been charged extra money for arriving early or leaving late(outrageous fee). I will never stay at this place ever again. What a disappointment.

Ft. Jackson Army BCT Graduation stay

This property worked very well for our stay to see our son-in-law graduate from Army Basic Training. The house was only 20 minutes from Ft. Jackson and easy to get to everything we needed.
