Captain's Rest consists of a kitchen/diner with electric oven, gas hob, fridge with ice box, microwave, washer/dryer, and dining seating, and a living/dining room with TV with DVD player and dining seating. The bedrooms consist of a third-floor twin and third-floor family room. There is a shower room with walk-in shower, basin, and heated towel rail, and WC. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen, and towels are included in the rent. Outside, there is a private balcony with furniture and roadside parking available. Two well-behaved pets are welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Return year after year to Captain's Rest. Note: Electric vehicle charging is prohibited due to electrical and fire safety concerns. Note: Extra dogs are welcome but at a charge of 20 GBP each.

The gateway to the Snowdonia National Park, Porthmadog is full of individual shops and restaurants, and home to the Ffestiniog Railway and the Welsh Highland railway where you can travel by steam through spectacular Snowdonia scenery, to Blaenau Ffestiniog or Caernarfon. The pretty village of Borth Y Gest, with its cliffs and coves, is a short walk or drive from the town. The well known and unique Italianate village of Portmeirion is just down the coast.
