Town: The small, rural village of Ysbyty Ifan is idyllically set amidst rolling hills and mountains in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. This is a National Trust village, renowned for being 'the most historical place in North Wales', and as the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln's Great Grandmother. The village has an historic and beautiful church, which sits on the site of the ancient hospice of the Knights of St John. There is also an old water mill and smithy, while the encompassing countryside is alive with a wealth of wildlife including the occasionally-spotted, rare red kite. Just 6 miles away, at the head of the beautiful Conwy Valley lies Wales' most popular inland resort, Betws-y-Coed, translated as "sanctuary in the wood".
