The village is situated at the northern end of the famous White Cliffs of Dover, with the beaches and cliffs around Kingsdown part of the Site of Special Scientific Interest that stretches south to Folkestone. Close by are the coastal towns of Deal, Dover and Broadstairs, offering the visitor castles, museums, heritage, history and quaint tea room. Deal has a pier, two weekly markets and the farmers’ market on Wednesdays is particularly popular with local residents. Inland, Canterbury offers a popular day out, with its cathedral, Roman remains and excellent shopping centre. With a promenade and cliff top walks, scenic cycle rides, golf courses and breathtaking views from the shore, this part of Kent is a perfect location for holidays at any time of year.
