Quirky 1840's former head gardeners cottage. Garden Cottage is a delightful four-bedroom cottage filled from top to bottom and inside-out with gloriously ornate whimsy. Formerly the residence of the estate’s Head Gardener, the cottage has been reimagined as a comfortable escape from the seriousness of the outside world. Dating back to the mid-19th century, some period features remain – a 30ft covered well in the kitchen, for one, now secured with toughened glass. Soft sofas, a zinc-clad dining table and huge open fireplace dominate the living space, while in two of the three double bedrooms you’ll find freestanding roll-top baths. There’s also a six-bed bunk dorm for kids, featuring built-in dolls-houses, triple-tier beds and its own en suite bathroom. N.B. Garden Cottage consists of three double bedrooms with the forth bedroom being the kids bunkroom.
