Great for families!

Lovely home very close to downtown sister bay. We had a lot of young children with us and it was a perfect spot for them. They especially loved playing in the loft and in the beautiful yard.

We loved this place!

Our family stayed here for our first Door County visit. It is a great location. Sister bay is a hub of activity. Jon was easy and wonderful to work with. The cottage is warm and cozy feeling with such character! Totally recommend staying there!

Family trip 2021

The location was great - quick bike ride to the beach, eating & shopping. The property was laid out well and felt secluded. We loved being able to walk down the street to get ice cream and watch the sun set.

Amazing stay!

This is a beautiful property with an amazing location in Sister Bay. 3 minute drive to the downtown area. We loved the decor, sitting on the porch and in the sunroom with morning coffee, and getting ice cream down the street. The owners were very easy to communicate with and the check in process was very easy. I would definitely stay here again.

Family Weekend

The house was absolutely perfect for our family get together. The bonus loft space was perfect for my teenage nephews and nieces to all stay in together. We are looking forward to our next visit to Door County and staying in this beautiful home.

Beautiful property

We had a mostly adult holiday but invited daughter w kids to spend one night in loft. It worked out perfectly. We had a great time sightseeing and hanging out at the house. We used the fire pit, ping pong table and bikes.

Quiet birthday weekend

Celebrated a quiet birthday weekend with the family. Great location, close to everything we wanted to do in the area. Owner was responsive with information in advance and for any questions. Would stay again and look forward to making a family tradition with such great memories!

Murphy’s “KipDee” cottage was perfect for our family of 6. The farmhouse was so charming, had such a beautiful well maintained yard, and was close to everything! We would definitely recommend to anyone and would stay again. Thank you Jon and Lucy!

Our New Home Away From Home!!!

Murphy’s KipDee home and gardens were delightful and welcoming. We found it to be very clean and beautifully decorated. The beds in the house are very comfortable. We didn’t use the clever bunkhouse annex. We enjoyed reading about the earlier owners. If you stay here, you will not be disappointed! We hope to return !

Fantastic house and location!

This is such a charming, cozy cottage. We were very pleased with all of the amenities, charm, and location. It was lovely to see the photos on the wall and read stories about the former owners. Can't wait to try this home again in the summer. Location was perfect and really gave you the Door County vibe. Don't forget to check out the holiday store across the street!

Quiet little getaway

We LOVED the location of this property and all the amenities. It's very doable to have two families stay on property with the loft above the garage. The house is styled beautifully, very warm and cozy which just adds to the appeal. We will definitely be repeat customers! Thank you Jon and Lucy!

July stay at Kipdee

We live around the corner and needed more space for our extended family. The KipDee was perfect! Beautiful yard and adorable, clean cottage and sleeping loft above the garage! Our family said the beds were the most comfortable they have ever slept on! Jon was awesome to work with and we highly recommend!

Girls wine weekend trip

Thanks to our wonderful hosts, this annual girls trip was the best one yet! We felt so at home in this lovely cottage. The property is close to town but far enough away to feel private and peaceful. Birthday Delight!

It was our first time visiting Door County. What a delightful experience we had, both enjoying the area and our stay at KipDee Cottage. We came for a wedding that happened to be on my birthday in Sister Bay. The location to the venue was perfect. The cottage was beyond charming, comfortable and well cared for. Sister Bay Summer 2024

Very nice, older home. Plenty big for 5 person family. Kids loved the loft above the garage. Parents loved the 4 season back porch. Ice cream shop 100 yards away. Easy access to town. Beautiful yard and lots of sitting/gathering areas. 2 showers and a large kitchen for a home of its age. Ping Pong and games in lower level of finished garage. Really couldn't ask for much more.

Charming Door County Cottage

This was an adorable cottage in Sister Bay. The location was great, and it easily slept our group of 7 people. It was nice having the loft space- our kids really enjoyed it. It did get pretty warm in the bedrooms in the main house, even with the doors open and hallway AC unit running. The kitchen had plenty of dishes to use, but no dishwasher, so be prepared to hand wash everything. Overall, we had a lovely stay and recommend this cottage.

Getting the family together in one place priceless!

Everything was exactly how we expected if not more. Looked like something in a fancy magazine, beach decorated. Kitchen had everything we needed for our big family dinners. Easy waking to the icecream shop high on evening entertainment.( across the street) big private yard for kids and barbeque dinners, talking around a firepit. Just the sort of pleasures a family gathering can bring. But did enjoy the window shopping and all the shops thru each town along the main road. The parks are so beautiful in the area. So it was hard to decide which 3 things we'd do each day. Shopping, hikes, beach, kayaking, shopping, boating, mini golf, long drive sight seeing.....the days were to short. Hope to make this a yearly gathering

charming home in great location

This charming home was fresh, clean, nicely appointed and very comfortable.It truly was as presented-no hidden issues. Loaded with thoughtful details, like plenty of towels, night lights in the bathroom, firewood and roasting sticks for use with the fire pit,games, great tv options, lots of adorable glass, dish and cookware, and an awesome front porch with comfortable furniture.It is a short walk to some local restaurants, to get ice cream, or to see the sunset at the marina or beach.While the cottage does technically sleep nine, that many guests would have to be ok with sharing bedrooms and limited privacy. The loft space above the garage is a great addition for a crowd, or for tweens to young adults (likely most comfortable on cooler summer days or fall) that are okay with getting to and using the bathrooms in the house. The owners, John and Lucy, were easy to deal with and we loved KipDee! Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

Absolutely perfect!

We love this place! Stayed for a long weekend with our two children (10 & 12), brother and sister-in law. This cottage has everything you need to make you feel like home. You can tell the owners are quite proud and take great care of this property. Bedroom are cozy and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The location is perfect! The Fall colors this time of year were amazing! We enjoyed shopping the towns, bowling at Sister Bay Bowl, exceptional meals at Welcker’s Lounge in Fish Creek, Boathouse on the Bay in Sister Bay, Wilson’s in Ephraim and of course Al Johnson’s. It’s a short drive to the Washington Island Ferry and we highly recommend renting a UTV to tour the Island. We are very grateful for the time well spent in Door County and can’t wait to return.

Sister Bay

Great spot for a family vacation. The loft above the garage is great if extra room is needed. We enjoyed being close to Door County Ice Cream Factory and were able to take advantage of the shuttle from the ice cream shop to downtown Sister Bay.

My wife Lucy and are educators in Northeastern Wisconsin. I have been a teacher and boys varsity basketball coach in Seymour Wisconsin for the past 32 years. Lucy is a school social worker in the Green Bay School system. We have a few years to teach and one day plan to move to this beautiful Sister Bay location. Our mantra now is "Life begins at Waters End!" In the meantime, we are excited to share our quiet, little Sister Bay Cottage with your family!

For years we have vacationed in the Door County area and have always dreamed of owning our own little slice of heaven. The minute we saw this place our search was over. We believe you will feel the same about this amazing 1898 Door County Farmhouse.

Waters End Road is the perfect location. Just a block away from the Bay from our driveway and 4 miles from Lake Michigan if you head East on Waters End road. Take a stroll next door for a homemade waffle cone at the Door County Ice Cream Factory or continue down the block to watch the sunsets over the Bay. Relax and enjoy the beauty and peace of Door County from the covered farmhouse porch.
