Chalet is very comfortable for a large family. It was very convenient to the ski area. Large mudroom with ample space and storage areas to keep our gear organized, dry, and warm. The fireplace was cozy and warm, and we loved it. Kids (20, 19, and 16) had a separate space, but they preferred hanging out with us by the fire.The property was private and quiet. Bedroom/bathroom setup was perfect for large family. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, which we did every night. We strongly recommend a four-wheel-drive vehicle for safe travel in this area. The Sunday River community had a lot of snow and ice, and it would not have been possible without the help of 1.Sunday River is a family-friendly mountain that accommodates skiers of all levels at a price that is significantly more affordable than going out West. The large bedrooms and storage were perfect for keeping everyone organized and comfortable. We always rent gear privately ....off mountain so having a big mudroom is a plus. Ski check at the resort works extremely well if you don't want to tote skis and poles back and forth, but they even have a covered place to store skis on the porch.The owner was very responsive and accessible.Home is cozy and nicely appointed.

beautiful house, comfortable and clean!

Perfect for a family with fun games and a good spaces to hang out in. We spent two days “stuck” inside because the weather was bad but did not feel “stuck” at all. It was a nice place to curl-up, be cozy, and have family time.

Great location, very clean!

We had a great stay at Vince’s place. The layout was perfect for our group and there was enough space for everyone to spread out. The house is spotless, which was much appreciated and well equipped. It’s located very close to Sunday River in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Vince was always responsive and helpful.

A Wonderful Choice!

Location, Layout, Livability and Lovely Decor made this a great Sunday River Ski house choice for our family of 3 adults and 4 children, our next generation of Sunday River skiers. Exactly as described and Vince and Tracey were attentive and responsive hosts for our questions. A really wonderful week!!

Great family home

Our stay here was awesome. Very comfortable fit for our two families of four. Games for the kiddos in the basement. Comfortable living room for the adults. We got a foot of snow overnight (!) and the snowplows cleared both the road and driveway by 8:30 am, so we were able to make it to the mountain. It's a steep climb up the road to the house, so without the plows, there would be no way we would've made it. Owner was very responsive via email and text during our stay. Bring your own firewood!

Excellent home for a family ski trip in Sunday River

We stayed at “Duxbury North” for a family ski vacation in mid-March to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday. It was our first time in the area, and both the house and the skiing did not disappoint. The house is immaculate, simply but smartly decorated, and very well appointed. Our two boys loved the house from the moment we walked in - they are often oblivious to their surroundings but were genuinely enthusiastic. There was abundant sleeping space for them downstairs, and in future times many of their friends or cousins. Plenty of games to entertain them, including a giant checkerboard which they enjoyed with their grandparents who had joined us for the trip. The main bedrooms were comfortable and clean, and the living room had ample space and seating. We cook a lot even in normal times, and the kitchen was well laid out and stocked well with equipment. We loved the coffee mugs! Two very minor notes for future renters, the ice machine is slow so you may want to bring some bagged ice. And the coffee maker option is a small Keurig so it’s one cup at a time. A coffee pot might be a nice addition. The night of my wife’s birthday I planned a series of gourmet courses (including Maine lobster of course), and the kitchen counter and dining table setup allowed me to cook while hanging out with the family, and had the right atmosphere to make a truly special night of celebrating. The skiing at Sunday River was very nice- it’s a big and pretty mountain with varied terrain. Ski chool was fully open for our kids, who had an amazing week of improvement and fun. The mountain was a very convenient distance, it made for an easy ski trip. I grew up skiing in Vermont but mostly ski out west in recent years, and I’d recommend Sunday River enthusiastically. Few other notes. Vince was very responsive and friendly at booking and during the stay. He obviously takes pride in the property. The house notes were accurate. I couldn’t get the Bose speaker to work with my phone, but was able to play music through the sound bar in the living room. A minor disappointment was that there was no firewood or starter stocked as listed. But that’s a very small thing, the opportunity to get away with family after a full year at home was wonderful, and this was the right house for our stay. I’d happily recommend it to anyone making the trip to Maine.

Great spot!

My family and I stayed at Sudbury North for a long weekend… it exceeded our expectations and was a perfect location only being a few minutes from the mountain. Thought we might be snowed in due to the blizzard but the property manager was out bright and early to dig us out which was much appreciated. Highly recommend this stop to anyone looking to get away for the weekend!

This is, by far, the nicest and cleanest (and coolest) rental property we have ever stayed at. The location is also amazing. The furnishings are immaculate, the beds are new and very comfortable, the décor is very cool, and again, the house is incredibly clean. Great games for kids, great technology in the TV's (easy to use, etc.), fast internet, perfect mudroom, and overall just fantastic. If we were looking to buy a house completely furnished, we would not change a thing from what is in this house. Love the mountainside neighborhood too. We certainly hope to book again.

Immaculate and Fully Stocked Ski Chalet -- A True Gem

We were impressed with this property from the moment we walked into this perfectly clean home, looked out the foyer, beyond the well equipped kitchen and through large living room picture windows to the hills beyond. The owners clearly appreciate and provide all the niceties associated with a wonderful ski vacation: cubbies and LOTS of well placed hooks for mittens, hats and coats; main floor washer and dryer; large efficient wood burning rock fireplace; and many comfortable beds and bedrooms designed in tasteful alpine decor. Our party of 6 found the kitchen very functional and well stocked, allowing us to prep and cook with plenty of room. And because the property is so close to Sunday River base lodges, we came home each day for lunch. The new fire pit, with comfy Adirondack chairs and festive overhead string lights was a fun place to wind down after a full day skiing. We have skied and stayed in many places over the past 20 years including Heavenly, Squaw Valley, Deer Valley and Vail. This home at Sunday River rivals all of the high end accommodations we've enjoyed. Thank you to Vince and Tracey for being very responsive in our communications and for making your home available to others. We will be back!

It's become a family tradition

We've stayed here four years now. First, this ski chalet is as immaculate as the first year we stayed here. Great value for tbe location where South Ridge lodge is ten minutes away. I personally love the house so much I don't mind letting the kids go ski while I relax.

Perfect Getaway - Perfect Location

The Powder River Ski House (aka “Sudbury North” Ski House”) was a perfect family vacation home. The kitchen was a dream, well stocked with cookware and perfectly organized which made dinner time seamless. The open floor plan allowed for our entire group to enjoy spending time together around the fireplace and dinner table while playing family games. We especially loved the outdoor fire pit which was well illuminated with string lights that could be turned on with Alexa (fun feature). All this and super close to the mountain! It’s a perfect home for a perfect getaway with family and friends.

Perfect Place

The place was immaculate! The owners communicated and made sure we were happy with everything. The kitchen was fully equipped, plenty of pots and pans and a great set of knives. I would highly recommend we plan and going back!

Wonderful place!

The house feels brand new and the furnishings were really fantastic. It was clean. Appliances were all new, the kitchen was so well stocked with plenty of plates, silverware, pots/pans and Keurig coffee maker. The master bedroom is huge with high ceilings which made it feel bigger. The basement was perfect for 6 teenage boys to have their own space to sleep and hang out while the parents could relax on the main floor. Mud room was huge and perfect to store all of our ski gear. A short drive to Sunday River ski resort made this place a perfect place. And the pictures on the listing don’t do it justice! Nothing but praise for this rental!

Gorgeous house in immaculate condition.

This house is spotless! The bedding, mattresses, and furniture are all brand new and super comfy. The appliances are all high end. The owners are super friendly, accommodating, and very easy to communicate with. 9 of us (two families) rented for a ski weekend. There is plenty of room in this house. We had unused beds. Two of those bunk bed mattresses are full size so you can easily fit two smaller kids in each. The extra media room in the basement is great for the kids to have their own hang out area. 5 minute drive to Sunday River.
