Gertrud was a fantastic host and even helped us out when we were in a pinch. Her hospitality is grateful and she responded quickly. The place itself was beautiful and cozy!

We had a great stay at Number 2 Aberdour. The accommodation was clean and had everything we needed. Getrud had included lovely extra touches, like a welcome gift for the children and a very detailed information pack with useful local information. Aberdour is a beautiful village with easy access to Edinburgh via train. We would recommend this host.

Gertrud was a wonderful host. We were able to meet her in person which we really appreciated. Delightful stay for us. We had 4 adults and two children in our group at her place. It was perfect for our needs. Aberdour is a cute village which we really enjoyed. Regular rail service to and from Edinburgh Waverley Station. Would definitely recommend Number Two Aberdour to everyone!

I hate to say we left after one sleep, when we were supposed to be there three nights It just did not live up to our expectations. The bed was probably the worst bed that I have ever slept on. The mattress was so thin I could squeeze it with one hand and the coils stuck in our backs all night. We really wanted to like this place as the town itself is absolutely lovely, sadly, it fell short. If I could offer one piece of advice, please change the mattress in the main bedroom.

"Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We were incredibly sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. Comfort is our top priority, which is why we reached out after your first night to ensure everything was to your satisfaction. Had we known you were uncomfortable, we would have gladly stepped in immediately to try and resolve the issue or provide alternative solutions. While bed firmness and preference can be highly subjective—our beds have been specifically mentioned as being very comfortable —we take all feedback seriously. We have thoroughly inspected the mattress in the main bedroom to ensure it meets our high standards of comfort and quality. Although we found everything in order, we have added another mattress topper for extra comfort. We are delighted you agree Aberdour is a lovely place and wish you all the best in your future travels."
