I hate to leave negative reviews, so I will keep that part to the end (subject a bit of a spoiler).
First off, you just can't beat the Woodrun's slope side location! It is so amazing to just park the car for a week, and ski right to your door. It makes the day to day so much easier, and you can even come back mid day to stop for lunch, take a break, change skis - whatever you want. My kids often like to just ski part of the day, and this was so easy accommodate.
The unit was big enough and had all we needed. The kids room was very hot, even in March, and with no windows, it was hard to cool, but they didn't seem to mind.
Now the challenging bit, we have been staying at the Woodrun for many many years, and unfortunately both of the last 2 years, DURING SPRING BREAK the pool facilities (pool this year, hot tub last year) have been shut down. My kids LOVE swimming after a day of skiing, and the hot tub is almost a medical requirement for me. I feel like a fool for having gone back here after last years experience, but I couldn't believe it would happen again.
The owners/strata of the the Woodrun clearly aren't spending enough to keep their maintenance up to date to reliably operate what their owners are advertising the property has to offer. I do hold the management company culpable as well because they knew the pool was closed, while I was still in my cancellation timing, yet the ad for the place never removed POOL from the first few words in the description.
We won't be staying at the Woodrun next year - how could I live it down if the facilities broke again. But will keep our eye on this property for possible future stays, to see if they sort out both their maintenance spending issues and their approach to ethical advertising.
