Accommodates 6 guests across 3 bedrooms
No.7 Coastguard Cottages is located on a row of properties which were formerly the residence of coastguards and their families.
Our Coastguard Cottages offer the perfect combination of comfort, accessibility and a superb location in a particularly accessible part of the Jurassic Coast – just a pebble’s throw from Lulworth Cove, with breathtaking views of England’s only natural World Heritage Site. The picturesque village of West Lulworth, along with the extraordinary features of Stair Hole, the Fossil Forest, Lulworth Crumple and the iconic rock arch of Durdle Door, are all within walking distance and linked by the South West Coast Path, placing history, safe beaches, action sports, beautiful walks and charming places to eat and drink right on your doorstep.
Adjoining cottages can additionally be booked to accommodate larger groups, being particularly popular with multi-generational holidays. This cottage is pet-friendly; a maximum of 2 well behaved dogs are welcome and well provided for; you will find food and water bowls, a towel and poo bags for your dog(s).
To help you make the most of your stay, we have carefully curated a welcome folder full of information about the cottage, Lulworth and the surrounding area, and our experienced Holidays Team are always happy to offer recommendations for memorable dining or the best places to pick up local produce. For stays of three nights or more, you’ll also find a welcome pack on arrival with delicious locally produced bread, eggs, milk, biscuits, jam, tea, coffee and sugar.
Layout:
Renovated to provide ultimate seaside comfort, No.7 sleeps six people across three bedrooms. Two double bedrooms with super king-size beds (one of which can be made up as twin beds on request), and one bedroom with two single beds all sit on the first floor. Each has stunning views of the local surroundings. We provide goose down and microfibre pillows, and luxuriously crisp white Beaumont & Brown linen for your comfort.
There is both a well-appointed bathroom with a shower on the ground floor, as well as a spacious bathroom with a shower over a bath on the first floor. A comfortable cotton robe is also provided for each person, along with fluffy white towels, and Lulworth body wash, hand soap and shampoo.
Enjoy the sitting room with its comfy sofas and wood-burning stove, TV with Freeview box and DVD player, and French patio doors to the front terrace area. The front garden terrace offers comfortable garden furniture and wonderful views over Lulworth Cove. To the rear, relish in the established garden sun trap, which is laid to lawn.
Dine at the modern table for six, next to a stone feature fireplace. You’ll notice coastal touches in the interior design throughout the cottage, evoking the nearby seaside.
The stylish, modern kitchen and utility room are both exceptionally well equipped, with a range oven and induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washer/dryer.
Directly outside No 7 is allocated, off-road parking for two vehicles in a privately accessed, gated driveway. Complimentary parking across the Lulworth Estate is included in your stay upon receipt of your car registration numbers, allowing you unlimited access to Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Lulworth Castle Park. For day trips further afield, there is a bus stop within West Lulworth village, with links to Poole, Weymouth and Swanage.
In front of the Coastguard Cottages is a large, grassed area ideal for picnics and exercise, from which leads paths to Lulworth Cove and Stair Hole.
The pedestrianised street to the left of the parking area leads through the village and its many restaurants, cafes, gift shops, The Doll’s House Confectionary Shop and ice cream kiosks, down to Lulworth Cove itself. At certain points of the day, you may have the beach entirely to yourselves!
Central heating and good Wi-Fi are included in your holiday. Phone signal may be limited so we have provided a landline for local calls.
Please Note: No.7 Coastguards is situated close to the area of the Lulworth Ranges, where military training and live firing may be heard dependent on wind direction. We recommend checking the MOD firing times in advance of your stay to help you plan accordingly by following this link.: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/lulworth-firing-notice
