Fishing is one of the main pastimes in this Fens holiday destination, with waters stocked full of pike and carp, ready to help you while away the day. Birdwatching is also on the cards during your stay, with the sky alive with hawks, buzzards and other spectacular birds of prey – don’t forget your binoculars. Venturing off-site, you’ll find plenty of charming towns and endearing tourist spots nearby. Spend time in Peterborough (12.5 miles), with its historic cathedral, or Stamford (10 miles), a town packed with quaint streets and independent shops. On the outskirts of Stamford, Burghley House (11 miles) is a 16th-century stately home with deer-strewn grounds and a calendar of seasonal events – be sure to check what’s on during your visit.
This quaint lodge has been designed to maximise comfort and provide an inviting space to return to at the end of each day. The curved, pod-style layout creates a cosy atmosphere. Step into the open-plan, studio-style interior, where cooking, dining, relaxing and sleeping all take place in one harmonious space. In the lounge area, a two-person sofa bed provides the perfect spot for movie nights, with a Smart TV just opposite. The kitchenette is compact yet well-equipped – ideal for morning refreshments and light meals. At the back of the pod is a double bed, and the whole place is fitted with heating and full insulation, ensuring a warm and snug night’s sleep, even in the coldest months. Next door, the en-suite features a contemporary shower and WC with a spacious, modern design.
Directly outside your lodge, enjoy a panoramic view of the lake opposite, complete with your very own fishing peg. Outdoor seating invites al fresco dining or evening sundowners, and the fire pit can be lit when the temperature drops. A year-round delight, the hot tub offers a perfect place to sit and soak, even on chilly days, with a view of the lake twinkling in the distance. A private parking space outside the property accommodates one car.
