Plan a trip 4 miles out of the city to the National Trust’s impressive Tredegar House, where you can wander the 17th-century mansion and its beautiful gardens and grounds. Plan a day out to Cardiff, 11 miles away, with its castle, museums and shopping areas. Picturesque Cwmcarn Forest, 10 miles away, with its lake and woodland walks, also makes a great day out.
