Escape to a superb barn conversion in the heart of the rolling Suffolk countryside that’s perfect for a relaxing holiday with family or friends. Set in the peaceful little village of Wilby, it sleeps six guests and is beautifully furnished and finished, with a wealth of original beams. The property is surrounded by fields, meadows and woodlands, with shops and welcoming country pubs just 1 mile away in the village of Stradbroke. You are well placed to explore the surrounding tranquil landscape, with quiet country walks and footpaths, while historic landmarks such as Framlingham Castle (8 miles) are within easy reach.
A wonderfully spacious, open-living space is the hub of this splendid holiday home, with ceiling and wall beams throughout. Elegant contemporary seating and a Smart TV offer a comfortable spot for relaxation in the lounge area. There’s a separate dining table and an impressive kitchen with a breakfast bar. Also on this floor are a delightful king-size bedroom and shower room. Up the striking wooden staircase are two further king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and the other with an en-suite bathroom. A door from the kitchen leads to the charming, enclosed garden, with an extensive lawn, large patio, charcoal BBQ and outdoor furniture. There is off-road parking for three cars.
The magnificent 12th-century Framlingham Castle dominates the lively market town. Discover its colourful history and take the dramatic wall-walk for amazing views across the countryside. Eye, another bustling market town, also 8 miles distant, is renowned for its splendid church and has a wealth of historic buildings, along with independent shops. Feast your eyes on the beautiful Helmingham Hall Gardens (12.5 miles) and enjoy a reviving drink and homemade cake in the tearoom. For a day at the seaside, head to pretty Southwold, with its sandy beach, Edwardian pier and landmark lighthouse, or Aldeburgh, famous for its cultural vibe (both 20 miles).
