In the heart of the historic center of Gallipoli, A Funtanaria is not just a place to sleep — it's a small journey into the soul of Salento. As soon as you set foot on the private terrace, you seem to enter a suspended dimension, collected between the honey-colored facades of historic buildings, the scent of the sea, the golden light that caresses every surface.
Here time slows down: slow outdoor breakfasts, lunches in the shade, pages of books flipped through with a coffee next door. Every corner of the house tells a story — of care, of elegance, of memory.

THE ARRANGEMENT

All rooms are located on one level — a rarity in Gallipoli, and a great convenience especially for families. The entrance is independent and leads directly to the large and welcoming private terrace, with table and chairs for outdoor dining.
The terrace is accessed in two ways: through a secondary door that leads to the bedroom, through a reading corner furnished with an armchair and a small table, or through the main entrance that overlooks the anteroom, an elegant space with Apulian ceramics, comfortable armchairs and a side table.

THE KITCHEN

To the right of the anteroom, the kitchen is large, bright and fully equipped. Decorative plates hanging on the walls, a typical Apulian pantry, and everything you need to cook, have breakfast or prepare an aperitif to enjoy on the terrace.

THE LIVING ROOM

In front of the entrance, a sliding door opens access to the living room, which can remain visible or be separated from the rest of the house to become a second bedroom thanks to the comfortable double sofa bed.

THE ROOM

On the left is the master bedroom, spacious, quiet and with a double exposure that guarantees light and air. The high vaults keep the room cool even on the hottest days, while a desk offers a space to read or work in peace.

THE BATHROOM

The bathroom has been completely renovated and has a large shower with side jets, carved into a niche that once housed an ancient kitchen fireplace. The original hood, now incorporated into the shower, is a detail that combines comfort and authenticity.

THE TERRACE

The heart of the house is the terrace: an outdoor retreat where time runs slower. A reading corner with armchair and coffee table invites you to relax, while in the center there is a yellow terracotta fountain, from which the house takes its name. The color recalls the golden facades of Gallipoli's palaces, creating a poetic link with the city.

During the summer months, you could park your car at the port car park, a few hundred meters from the house. Access and parking in the historic center is limited in summer.
