The actual condo complex is really lovely, from the pool to where it’s located on the bay and how the grounds are maintained is first rate. Daily housekeeping service is very nice too. We did run into a few issues though which is reason fot rating. The property owner/management company was difficult to get a hold of through email and texts. The automated emails come and I replied via email and text and didn’t hear anything back for a few days while trying to organize transportation services and groceries. So responsiveness wasn’t great. We had paid for an extra half day as we were arriving early but when we got to unit it had not been cleaned and still had a messy kitchen, beds with no sheets, and general mess from prior renters in unit when we arrived. Everyone was exhausted and just wanted to rest but we had to wait for a few hours for cleaners to come through and provide linens.
The internet service is spotty, it goes in and out and the wifi signal is only available on the lower level. It maybe typical for area but remote work would be difficult if you had to do any teleconferencing or required a stable connection.
The unit needs some deferred maintenance, the pillows and some of the mattresses are like rocks or just have zero support and likely very old. I sleep on an extra firm mattress and everyone except our youngest said how uncomfortable the mattresses were. I woke up most evenings with shoulder and hip pain on the mattresses. The ac unit in one of our bedrooms would cycle constantly on and off and rattled a good bit, enough so that we put our deep sleeper in that room as he can sleep through anything. The last two nights the remote stopped functioning in same room and was freezing in the room even though it had been set to 25 C and we layered with towels.
About a 1/4 of the drink wear needs to be replaced as it’s cracked and leaks. Just in general items in the unit are well loved and in need of replacement. I’d also suggest for trash cans to be replaced with one with a lid including bathroom trashes as you’re supposed to put TP in trash as well. I don’t want to deter people from staying here though as the unit is overall really lovely and the location is fantastic if you’re a fan of first class snorkeling but it just isn’t a four or five star VRBO experience either. Some minor investment in the unit, new cups, fixing a/c, pillows, mattresses, trash cans, better communication would easily put it back at a 4 or 5.
