Outside, a private enclosed rear garden with a paved patio, timber pergola, outdoor dining for six, fire pit and swing makes this a genuinely appealing retreat, whether you are visiting for a weekend city break, a family stay, or an extended working trip.

The original features throughout — stripped wooden floors, an ornate tiled fireplace surround in the living room, a cast-iron fireplace in one bedroom and a wood-burning stove in the kitchen — give the cottage a warmth and character that photographs alone cannot fully capture.

The living room is a comfortable, well-proportioned space with a sofa, armchairs, filled bookshelves and a wall-mounted TV, making it ideal for unwinding after a day exploring the city. The dining kitchen is perhaps the heart of the home: the wood-burning stove on its tiled hearth creates a cosy, convivial atmosphere on cooler evenings, while the dining table gives the whole group a proper space to eat and gather together. For those visiting on business or working remotely, a dedicated workspace with both Wi-Fi and an ethernet connection adds a practical dimension that sets this property apart from many short-let cottages. Board games are also available for guests to enjoy.

The layout
The cottage is arranged over two floors, with the living and dining spaces on the ground floor and the bedrooms and bathroom above.
You arrive via a glazed porch entrance framed by mature climbing plants, which leads through into an entrance hallway with a tiled floor and a carpeted staircase with a turned wooden banister leading to the upper floor.

Living room
The living room features an ornate tiled fireplace surround with a framed print above, filled bookshelves, a wall-mounted TV, a sofa, armchairs and stripped wooden flooring. Room-darkening shades are fitted. A dedicated workspace with ethernet connection is available here alongside Wi-Fi, making the space equally suited to relaxation or remote working.

Dining kitchen
The dining and kitchen spaces connect through an open doorway and together form the social hub of the property. The dining area has a white wooden dining table with chairs, a grey-painted sideboard and the characterful wood-burning stove set into a tiled hearth. The fitted kitchen has white units, a patterned tiled splashback, wooden worktops, a gas hob, oven, microwave, large fridge-freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, hot water kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, wine glasses, a baking sheet and all the cooking basics you need for a self-catering stay. Complimentary tea and coffee are left on the worktop for guests on arrival.

Laundry
A washing machine is available for guest use, along with an iron, ironing board, drying rack, hangers and cleaning products. A laundromat is also located nearby.

Bedroom one — double
The first double bedroom has an iron-frame bed dressed in white bedding with blue cushions, a tall chest of drawers, a pine wardrobe with storage and a full-length freestanding oval mirror. An original fireplace surround adds a period detail to the room.

Bedroom two — double
The second double bedroom has a grey-upholstered double bed, an original cast-iron fireplace surround, a fitted pine wardrobe, a dressing table with stool, a built-in wardrobe and a TV. A sash window brings in natural light. Both bedrooms are well-proportioned and comfortably furnished for two guests each.

Bathroom
The bathroom is a real highlight of the property, featuring a freestanding roll-top bath with a separate shower, a pedestal sink, a toilet and a roof skylight that floods the room with natural light. Body soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided. A hair dryer is also available.

Outdoor space
The private rear garden is enclosed by brick and rendered walls and offers a generous amount of space for a city-centre property. The paved patio has an outdoor dining table and six chairs, and is framed by a timber pergola with hanging baskets and planted borders. A separate area with a gravel and cobblestone surface sits beneath a pergola swing, with a fire pit available for evening use. The garden is accessible via a wooden gate, with potted plants and planted borders adding greenery throughout.

Parking
Free parking is available on the premises, accessible from Greenbank Road. Free on-street parking is also available nearby. Please contact your host in advance if you require guidance on the street parking arrangements.

Access
Entry to the property is via a lockbox, giving guests full flexibility to arrive and depart at their convenience. A pack `n play travel crib is available for guests travelling with infants — please mention this when booking if you need it set up in advance.

Location
The cottage sits in Southville, one of Bristol`s most celebrated and community-driven neighbourhoods, known for its independent spirit, excellent food and drink scene, and easy access to the wider city. North Street is directly on your doorstep — a lively, characterful strip of independent shops, cafés and much-loved local venues. The Old Bookshop pub is a firm favourite with locals, and the Tobacco Factory is a short walk away and hosts a popular Sunday market. The neighbourhood is particularly well regarded for brunch, with a strong selection of independent cafés within easy walking distance.

A short walk across the river brings you to Wapping Wharf, a cluster of container-style independent restaurants and bars right on the harbourside. The broader harbourside area is one of Bristol`s most celebrated spaces, with the iconic SS Great Britain, M Shed museum, Arnolfini gallery and Millennium Square all reachable on foot. Ashton Court, an 850-acre estate offering woodland walks and open countryside on the edge of the city, is a short drive away and well worth a visit.

The cottage is exceptionally well placed for exploring Bristol without a car, though free parking is available for those who prefer to drive.
