Luxury Riverside Studio in Historic York Mill

Summary:

Our apartment is part of a luxury Victorian mill conversion and enjoys a quiet riverside location within York's historic city walls.

York's most famous attractions are all reachable on foot. The railway station is a 20 mins walk. Morrisons and Waitrose supermarkets and Starbucks are at the end of the road.

Self-checkin & out, but we are always on hand to help, answer questions or give tips on what York has to offer.



The Space:

The apartment's fixtures and fittings are of a luxury standard. The kitchen boasts a quartz work top a combi oven/microwave, a ceramic hob and is equipped with high-end appliances.



A full-size double bed with sprung mattress, topper and a king-size duvet ensure a good night's sleep.

There is a strict no-smoking policy for the apartment and building.



To reduce the environmental impact of our apartment, we have up-cycled as much furniture as possible without compromising on quality or comfort.



Freeview TV is available. The free Wifi connection and the smart TV also allow you to log in to your favourite online streaming services, e.g. Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.



Although we do not have an allocated parking space at the apartment, we have an unloading bay (for check-in and luggage drop-off - maximum 25 minutes), pay-and-stay parking spaces on site (non-reservable), and a bookable multi-storey car park just across the river.



Guest Access:

The whole apartment is at your disposal, please make yourself at home. The brown cupboard in the hall way has hanging space, shelves and draws. There is only one wlak-in cupboard in the hall way that is locked, where my personal belongings and supplies are stored.



The Neighborhood:

Based in the very centre of York, within the city walls. You are a 2 minute walk from the famous 'Shambles' and many more attractions.



Sat on the quiet river Foss the apartment is so central it doesn't have a designated parking space but there is plenty of local parking nearby.



York is famous for its independent shops, cafes and restaurants and we are lucky enough to be situated just around the corner from the most up and coming road - 'Fossgate' where you will find the above in abundance.



Getting Around:

The apartment is ideally situated to see all York's highlights on foot.



There's a lot to see, so the York Pass is excellent value - gain free entry to over 40 York & Beyond attractions. It's convenient and easy to use, either as a hard copy or as an instant mobile ticket on your smartphone device. Further information is available on the YorkPass website.



Fancy a day at the Vanguard Shopping Mall or the York Designer Outlet - bus stops for the shuttle busses are a 5-min. walk away.



Take a day out on what was voted Britain's most scenic bus route in 2018 - the Coastliner 840. This takes you from the heart of York, past the Howardian Hills, through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park to the coast and the beautiful Whitby Bay, where the local fish and chip shops are often voted Fish and Chip shop of the year in the UK.



If steam engines are your thing or you just want to enjoy some fantastic scenery, take a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Historical Railway - from Pickering via Goathland (a Heartbeat and Harry Potter film location) to the picturesque Whitby Bay.



For those on two wheels, there are cycle paths leading directly from Rowntree Wharf. North Yorkshire boasts numerous long distance cycle ways.



Other Things to Note:

COVID-19

We hosted key workers in our apartment free of charge, so we know the rigorous cleaning and disinfecting protocol. Over and above these requirements, we have freshly painted the apartment and we will leave a minimum of 24hrs between guests to enable us to thoroughly clean and disinfect the apartment before your arrival - no same day departures and arrivals!

The apartment can also be equipped with a high-end Dyson purifier (supplement £5/night). Please, let me know after booking if you require one.



Interaction with Guests:

It provides convenient access to York’s City Centre, which is only a few minutes' walk away, whilst providing a quiet and relaxing ambience.



Fossgate is on the doorstep and offers numerous bars, cafes, restaurants and shops.



The Famous ‘Shambles’ is just a short stroll away. Again, within a few minutes walk, you have The Q Park (Shambles) car park and a couple of supermarkets.



There is always something going on in York. We will provide you with a map and leaflets for your information, and we're more than happy to help with recommendations.
