この施設について
Dual Aspect, Bright, High Ceilings
Summary:
This spacious apartment comprises an entrance hall, large living room, kitchen bathroom and
double bedroom. The entrance has a large Venetian chandelier, walnut oval table and
silver-leafed double doors opening respectively to the living room and the bedroom. The living
room has a marble fireplace, mirrors, artworks and comfortable furniture designed by the owner.
Though small, the galley kitchen has a six-burner hob, dishwasher and washing machine.
The Space:
This unique apartment is situated on a corner of Old Brompton Road and one of the side streets
in South Kensington. It has high ceilings and unusually large windows opening onto a narrow
balcony that wraps around the corner. The effect is of pocket grandeur, and a decisively French
atmosphere that corresponds well with the European flavour of this part of London.
The building was built in the 1890s and has seen many changes over the years, From a double
fronted house it was subsequently converted into two shops and four flats. Being on the first
floor, this is the most spacious of these flats. As though a box at the theatre, the aspect is
towards white stucco houses across the road, and towards the South Kensington station which
is only 150 metres away.
The Neighborhood:
South Kensington is home to the largest museum complex in the UK including the Victoria &
Albert Museum, the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum. The Royal Albert
Hall hosts a varied programme of performance and classical music, including the Proms concert
in summer months. Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are close by. Household Cavalry
horses are exercised every morning, and normally pass at around 7.30.am.
Getting Around:
Transport Links: South Kensington station provides access to the District, Circle, and Piccadilly Underground lines, facilitating convenient travel across London.
Other Things to Note:
The bedroom has window shutters which do not block out all the sunlight.
A bath is available, but the shower is currently not working. However, there is a handheld shower attachment connected to the bath for use.
