I read the previous reviews before booking and noticed several comments about the house being old. It is old—but that’s part of the charm of a house built in 1860, so I certainly wouldn’t consider that a negative. Check-in was easy, and communication with the host was excellent. The location can’t be beat. I would definitely stay here again!

The house was centrally located for all that we wanted to do in the area. We enjoyed the easy access to all of the shops and restaurants downtown. The outside patio area was nice and we would have taken more advantage but it was way too hot in MD that week. The off street parking was nice as well. Be mindful the house is 165 years old, with narrow stairs and hallway but we had no complaints about our stay.

The location was excellent and within walking distance of everything downtown, which was the property’s biggest advantage. However, for the price, the accommodations fell short of expectations.The kitchen was poorly stocked, with an incomplete set of silverware and old, worn pots and pans. There were also not enough towels provided for either the kitchen or bathrooms, and only one garbage bag was supplied for the entire stay.Additionally, the host was unresponsive when I reported that the bathroom mirror had not been installed and was sitting outside the bathroom.While the property’s location helped offset some of these issues, the overall condition and lack of amenities made it difficult to justify the price.

Fabulous location for a downtown girls (family) trip. Right off of the Carrol creek park and Thursday night in the park they have concerts (the host recommended) Great place and nice patio to hang out on and drink some wine. Also recommend by the host was the Bakehouse bakery (do not miss those place!!) The wine kitchen and Wye oak tavern are a must if you love good food

Fantastic location and convenience of dedicated parking spots were very IPort at to us and this property did not disappoint. A very quiet neighborhood right of beautiful Carroll Creek put us right in the heart of everything. Beds were great and air conditioners worked perfectly to keep rooms cool. We loved the dining table for nightly board games and Pac Man sessions thanks to the authentic Pac Man arcade game! The bathrooms were very cramped and there wasn’t really anyplace to put things, but we managed just fine. The place needs some TLC and some updating, but we didn’t spend much time there, so it didn’t bother us. Everything was clean. We liked the historic photos and appreciated that the building was built in the 1800s! Plenty of room for two couples. Thanks again!

Would not stay here again.Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this VRBO for several reasons.The mirror fell off the bathroom wall while I was just washing my hands. I was lucky to have caught before it hit my face. Told the owner and he never apologized. Just said to stick it in the hall.There are only 2 very small pedestal sinks in each bathroom and no shelving to put any toiletries. The power went out while using the hair dryer which also tripped the air conditioner and all electricity in the master bedroom.The kitchen is poorly stocked. Some of the furniture is very rickety.Most shockingly, I had left to go to the gym the morning we were set to check out. My wife was there when the front door opened at 9:30. Checkout is at 11:00.It was the owner. He didn't even knock! He said he didn't see a car in the driveway, so he thought we'd left. She was quite unnerved but fortunately quickly realized it was indeed the owner since she had seen his business card in the house. He did apologize so hopefully that won't happen to anyone else. He did go to the basement to flip the breaker back on after stating that that had happened to guests a couple of times the prior week. We have no bad feelings against the owner. He seemed very nice, but the stay was definitely not what we had anticipated

My sincere apologies for your experience and thanks for your comments. We did have guests coming and going that day and i did arrive about an hour earlier then your checkout time (as i work in Downtown Frederick also). When i drove by I saw no car and thought you all had left. Ill tend to throw laundry in to help the cleaners to get a jump on the laundry and turn-around. Which was the case here. Regarless, I should have checked with you before entering the property. I regret doing so. All the best to you all.

When we arrived the 4 AC window units were off so we went to turn each on and saw how filthy they were. The one in the master bedroom had mold and the other three were full of dirt and dust. I sent a message to the owner explaining the situation and telling him we were not staying due to the fact that even after cleaning the filter in each unit the units themselves were filthy and the air quality would not be good if we turned them on. He responded fairly quickly and said he cleaned the filters. I told him our concern with the condition of the units and how dirty they were. He was apolgetic and said that he would give us a full refund due to our dissatisfaction. I thanked him and expected that he would send refund. That was Tuesday 8.11.26. It is now Sunday 8.16.26 and no refund has been issued and no response to the 4 messages I have sent. The text was read but no response was sent. I would not recommend this property.

I feel your review is a bit overzealous and unfair. I inspected our home before you arrived that day and the home was perfectly clean and ready for guests. Upon your arrival you noted: "All of the air filters are FULL of dust and black mold" Two of the four AC Units were brand new and 2 were a bit older - those 2 have been replaced BTW. I went back to the home right after you left to inspect the filters and all of the filters were clean enough to see though... and one was dirty. How you quickly determine black mold without any testing is wrong and impossible. The one was dirty and had some dust in the filter. I sent you back pics of all the air filters as soon as I returned back and will post on this review as they were all clean. I feel there was another reason you wanted to cancel.

My granddad was born on East All Saints Street so I have a little bit more passion for this home and area.

Historic Downtown Frederick. Truly in the heart of a vibrant downtown location. Literally, just steps away to the creek and all the Carroll Creek Promenade and Downtown Frederick Partnership has to offer throughout the year. You will not be disappointed in this location! 1.5 block walk to Frederick Visitation Center. Within one block north of here you are at the square corner in Downtown Frederick and get to anywhere by foot.

One of my favorite features is the backyard area which is fully fenced and has a large patio. This is a great area to sit and relax and enjoy Downtown Living. The backyard area feels more of like an enclave type setting which backs towards Carroll Creek and Downtown Frederick.
