Professionally managed, Greenwell Cottage, a beautifully restored 200+ year old English cottage where historic character meets modern luxury. Lovingly refurbished in 2025 with repointed stone exterior walls and carefully preserved period features throughout, this spacious retreat blends centuries of heritage with contemporary comfort to create an unforgettable countryside getaway. Greenwell Cottage includes the beautifully converted Inkwell Annexe, providing extra space for family or guests. The entire property is rented as one unit, with one booking covering all bedrooms, located riverside near Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland.
Inside, the property is warm, welcoming and thoughtfully designed, with generous living spaces, luxurious bedrooms and stunning outdoor surroundings. With four bedrooms sleeping up to 10 guests, it’s a perfect home-from-home for families, friends or groups seeking peaceful countryside seclusion while still being close to local attractions and amenities.
THE PROPERTY BREAKDOWN
The property is arranged across one single level - no internal steps throughout.
Bedrooms:
Bedroom 1 - A versatile room with 2 single beds plus a optional pull out day bed that can be used as singles or a double bed and a small freestanding unit with mini storage.
Bedroom 2 –
A stunning 4-poster king-size bed and a show-stopping luxury freestanding bath positioned on a bespoke plinth inspired by the room’s restored original fireplace. The fireplace was rebuilt using original stones uncovered during garden restoration, creating a unique link to the cottage’s history. Bedside tables, lamps, a wardrobe and draws are also provided.
Bedroom 3 -
Spacious and peaceful, this room features a luxurious king-size bed, high ceilings that create a grand, airy feel, bedside tables, lamps, wardrobes and drawers.
Ensuite – Bath with shower overhead, WC and wash basin.
Bedroom 4 – A stunning 4-poster king-size bed with bedside tables, lamps, wardrobe and drawers.
Two family bathrooms – Shower, wash basin and WC.
