Cozy 20ft Shipping Container Cabin in the Jungle close to Flores Island
Casa Federico is located in the lively rural town of San Miguel, on the opposite shore of Lake Petén Itzá, a 5-minute boat ride from Flores. It’s easily accessible by boat and a short 10-minute walk or tuk-tuk ride. On the outskirts of town, it offers a secluded retreat, surrounded by nature and birdsong.
Casa Federico is my personal home, which I open to guests who value tranquility, independence, and adventure. Designed for travelers who care for the places they visit, it invites you to unwind and slow down. I’ll be on the property if you need assistance or have questions, but I’ll keep to myself so you can enjoy your stay.
Container guests have access to the container home and the surrounding outdoor areas, including:
A covered sitting and dining area, a fire pit and an outdoor bar for cozy evenings under the stars
Please respect quiet hours between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. so that other guests and I can rest if we wish.
Getting Here & Parking: You won’t need a car during your stay—everything is close by and easily accessible on foot or by public transportation such as tuk-tuks. Casa Federico is best reached by boat, followed by a short walk or a Tuk Tuk ride from the dock.
There is no designated or permitted parking on or near the property. If you do arrive by car, it’s best to leave it on the island side of Lake Petén Itzá or arrange for parking yourself.
This is a vacation home—not a hotel. Essentials like toilet paper and filtered water are provided to get you started, but you’re expected to restock as needed.
