Amesbury is well worth a visit, being an attractive town sitting on the River Avon. There are many independent shops, restaurants and inns to visit with it being home to Stonehenge. Stonehenge is the closest attraction to Amesbury and the 2 mile walk across the historic landscape is both invigorating and interesting. Salisbury is well worth a visit, being the jewel in Wiltshire's crown. The city offers historic streets with charming half-timbered buildings, traditional pubs, characterful shops and a twice-weekly market. Should you wish to explore further afield a short distance will take you to the New Forest National Park, and the Hampshire and Dorset coasts. There’s so much to see and do in this area, you will surely be spoilt for choice.
