Scoor House is set in a wonderfully peaceful and remote location on the south-western tip of the Isle of Mull, around three miles from the village of Bunessan and the main road. Access is via a scenic two-mile farm track, which can be uneven in places and is best taken slowly—part of the journey that makes this hidden corner of Mull feel so special and secluded from the moment you arrive.

Surrounded by open countryside, the property enjoys far-reaching views towards Loch Assapol, with the sea visible to both the east and west. It’s an ideal setting to relax, unwind, and take in the natural beauty of the Ross of Mull.

Just a short walk from the house, you’ll find two beautiful white sandy beaches—Scoor and Kilvickeon—along with the historic abandoned township of Shiaba, perfect for exploring and experiencing the area’s unique character. Once a thriving crofting community, Shiaba was cleared during the 19th-century Highland Clearances, and today its ruins stand as a poignant reminder of the island’s past within a dramatic and beautiful landscape.

Scoor House itself is a traditional two-storey farmhouse that has been thoughtfully converted into four fully equipped self-catering apartments, along with an adjoining cottage. Surrounded by a working farm, guests may see livestock in the surrounding fields; for their safety and comfort, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

The apartments take their names from the surrounding land and its history. Cruachan, named after the hill to the north-east of the house, reflects the rugged beauty of the landscape that surrounds you.

Set on the first floor to the right of the building, Cruachan has a front-facing window that draws in plenty of natural light and looks out across open countryside towards Loch Assapol.

Comfortable and full of simple charm, the apartment is well suited to couples, families, or small groups looking to slow down and enjoy life close to nature. After a day of walking, exploring, or time by the shore, you can settle in beside the open fire and enjoy a warm, cosy evening (please note that firewood is not provided).
