Modern cabin with view in Rauland

Welcome to this modern mountain lodge, a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the silence of nature. The cabin is located 1000 meters above sea level and has large windows overlooking the mountain landscape.



The interior is welcoming and comfortable, with a large lounge sofa perfect for relaxing after a long day outdoors. The cabin has three bedrooms, two beautiful bathrooms and a sofa bed in the loft, providing plenty of space for the whole family.



Outside the cabin you'll find a south-facing terrace, a perfect place to enjoy both summer and winter days. The surrounding area is ideal for summer, fall and winter activities, with great mountain trails right outside the cabin. These are family-friendly. Famous and slightly more challenging peaks nearby are Bosnuten and Vehuskjerringi, both with fantastic views. Bosnuten is also great in winter for hiking. In the summer you can visit Fagerstranda with its sandy beach and canoe rental. This is just 10-15 minutes by car from our cabin.



The area also offers many sights and activities, from summit hikes to Lårdalsstigen and Gaustadtoppen (1883 meters above sea level) to the Soria Moria sauna at the historic Dalen Hotel and a refreshing dip in the Telemark Canal 1 hour's drive from the cabin. Gaustadtoppen is great for hiking down in winter. You can either ski up or take the historic trail inside the mountain up to the top.

The valley is also the starting point for the magnificent Lårdalsstigen hike, which offers fantastic views of the historic Telemark Canal. At the end of the hike, you can take a beautiful old boat back to Dalen. For those interested in history, there is an exciting museum at Rjukan that tells the story of the heavy water campaign during the Second World War. Rjukan is listed as a World Heritage town and is about 50 minutes' drive from the cabin. Rjukan offers bungee jumping over a waterfall and you can take the cable car, Krossobanen, to the opposite side of Gaustadtoppen for perfect pictures. There's also a climbing park. On bad-weather days, head to the beautiful water park at Rjukan or the national reindeer museum at Møsvatnet.



Ski in/ski out: There are both fine cross-country ski trails and family-friendly alpine resorts right outside the cabin.
