In the middle of the forest and on the shores of a large, peaceful lake, you'll find this idyllic cottage, a stone's throw from the old Engestofte Estate. Here you can enjoy living in the middle of some of the most unspoiled nature Denmark has to offer.
The cottage used to be the home of the estate owner and has been restored with a love of history. Large windows all around and glass doors to the garden and lake give the house a beautiful light and draw nature inside. The brand new kitchen is cozy and has everything you need. Both the spacious dining room and the lovely living room with plenty of space for summer cottage coziness have exits to the garden's fantastic terraces.
Upstairs, you'll find three lovely bedrooms, each with its own idyllic decor. Light colors, furniture with history and personal details create a charming and calm atmosphere that fits beautifully with the house's surroundings. In the winter, there's a lovely fireplace to cozy up by.
The fisherman's house is located in the middle of the Maribo Lakes Nature Park in a cluster with three other idyllic half-timbered summer houses, which back in 1457 formed a royal estate. The large old garden is located in the middle of the forest, and there aren't many places in Denmark where you can stay so undisturbed. Take a dip in the peaceful lake from your own private jetty, or enjoy the spectacular views from the beautiful old greenhouse converted into a small gazebo. If you're lucky, you might spot rare orchids and butterflies on a walk through the forest or see the amazing sea eagles that breed here.
Please note that the Fisherman's House is only rented on a weekly basis during the high season.
