A beautifully restored stone-built, four-bedroom country house, set within 13 acres of incredible private grounds, with breathtaking views towards the iconic Devil's Chair of The Stiperstones Nature Reserve.
The cottage images go somewhere to do it justice. However it's fair to say that your group would have close access to one of the most stunning areas of the Shropshire Hills.

Snape Cottage is a property which has been held close to the family for many years, and after a lot of thought, the hosts felt it was time for other guests to experience it.

At the heart of the cottage is a spacious open-plan kitchen and dining room, designed for get-togethers, meals and drinks with loved ones.
Featuring a large dining table to seat 8 guests, a log-burning stove and a cosy sofa to put your feet up and finally relax.

In the spacious kitchen, we have a lots of work surface prep area, along with a central island breakfast bar and stools to start your day with a hot cuppa. Fully fitted with a dishwasher, two refrigerators, separate freezer and everything needed to rustle up a feast.

Next to the kitchen is the utility room which features storage for shoes, boots and coats, with a separate washing machine and tumble dryer; essential after a trek around the hills.

Walk through into the elegantly furnished sitting room with two chesterfield sofas and an armchair, Smart TV and log-burner.
Fancy a night at the casino?
- pull out the games table which features a superb roulette wheel inside (with betting chips).
There's also a chess board to bring out your competitive edge.

The cottage comfortably sleeps up to eight guests across four very spacious, unique bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

We welcome your four-legged friends to the cottage with the understanding that they must be keep downstairs and off furniture.
This is the only way we can keep the property looking its best at all times.

All with lovely ornate antique furniture pieces for your personal belongings and clothes.

A separate bathroom, featuring a bath and shower is also on this floor.

Second Floor

Spacious loft space bedroom 4 | a flexible split-link super king size bed - or 2 single beds for added convenience. (please let us know your preference 7 to 14 days notice before your check-in date).
This bedroom has the second ensuite shower room.

Cinema & Entertainment Room

When it's time to relax, head to our 'cinema room' - ok , it's really just a cool snug but featuring a huge 77" Smart TV, two sofas and bean bags for lounging.

Games Room
Outside, is a converted barn with a superb slate-bed pool table, table football (foosball) and dart board to take on your friends or family! Connect your favourite playlist to get into the spirit with our JBL 'Partybox' Bluetooth speaker with deep bass, LED lights and 160 Watts of power!

Outdoor Living and Experiences

Step outside onto the spacious patio and soak up some of the finest views in Shropshire. Facing directly towards The Stiperstones and Devil's Chair, this is a truly special place to unwind.

We have a large patio leading from the dining area, with elegant outdoor furniture, with table and seating, for enjoying those alfresco moments.

Around the side of the cottage, overlooking the Shropshire countryside is our fabulous wood-fired hot tub to relax under the stars.
All instructions will be given on the use of this before your stay.

When the sun starts setting and the drinks are flowing, why not trek up to the fire pit area behind the cottage. We have seating for all and a 'witches chair' in case someone isn't behaving! (the fire pit is seasonal, and dependant on how dry the surrounding vegetation is).

Our resident horses are in the field next to the drive up top the cottage. They're super friendly.

Fancy a venture out to the local pubs, we've got that covered:

The Bridges, Ratlinghope - SY5 0ST - the nearest to the cottage. 30 minutes walk (it's a fairly steep hill so you'll need the wind behind you on the uphill stint home), or 5 minutes by car.
A great pub with local ales. Dog friendly. Nice outside space with a pretty stream alongside.
**Please make sure you check whether they have the dinner menu on for your nights of choice to avoid disappointment.

The Stiperstones Inn - Stiperstones - 15 minutes by car or just over an hour walk across the iconic Stiperstones Nature Reserve. SY5 0LZ

Walks - where do we start?
From the cottage, there are countless walks across two National Parks.
1. The Stiperstones - seen from the cottage - walk up the country roads to reach the top and have miles of incredible hill-top countryside to explore, including the iconic Devil's Chair rock formation.

2. Walk over to Church Stretton where you have the stunning stretch of Carding Mill Valley and Long Mynd Hills, along with The Lawley, Caer Caradoc and many many more. If you are an avid hill walker or mountain biker, this area is paradise sent.

Speaking of bikes, we have a storage area for your to keep it safe. Bring a lock.

This area is incredibly popular with trails and fast downhill routes.

Update: The fishing pool needs further work (and fish) - we will update this as we finish the work and the summer heatwave subsides.

However, we must ask all guests to follow our pets code of conduct. This means that no pets must be allowed upstairs at any time.
• We welcome family groups, and groups of friends, and professional contractors.
• Due to the proximity of our fishing lake (now stocked with 100 carp), situated away from the cottage, children must be supervised outdoors by a responsible person.
• Please adhere to fishing rules to protect the fish in the lake - all caught fish by rod only, must be returned to the lake carefully.
• Please make yourself aware of the hot tub rules and hours of use. It must be requested at the time of booking and can be filled and prepared ready for your stay.

IMPORTANT: On behalf of our host at Pass the Keys, we require guest verification facilitated by Truvi (Previously called Superhog). Upon confirming your booking, Truvi will contact the lead booker via a secure link, providing detailed instructions for the verification process.

The online verification requires a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card.
