There are also plenty of bars, cafes, and restaurants to indulge in some local fare. Walking enthusiasts should head to the historic market town of Alston, 20 miles away and the gateway to the North Pennines National Landscape. From here, you can explore fells and moorland, witness huge skies and tumbling mountain streams, and discover cascading waterfalls.
Set in the grounds of Grade II-listed Garth House, this delightful property is spread across one level and offers a studio-style design. Climb the 12 stone steps to the front door, head inside and be greeted by an enchanting retreat with elevated views inviting you to sit back and relax together. Sink into the lounge space’s soft sofa and flick on the Smart TV to unwind after days of outdoor adventure. When stomachs begin to rumble, find that the sleek corner kitchen boasts everything needed to cook up holiday feasts, to be enjoyed at the cute dining table sitting in the light of the window. After dinner, enjoy a long soak in the stunning free-standing bath set in one corner, then retreat to your super-king-size bed for undistributed slumber.
