This beautifully refurbished cottage makes an ideal getaway for up to five guests and one dog. Flexible sleeping accommodation means this works equally well for a small family or a group of friends. Head straight for Lincoln (11 miles) where you can see the Magna Carta (one of four remaining) in the medieval castle, built by William the Conqueror. Also, check out Lincoln Cathedral, also called Lincoln Minster, which was consecrated in the 11th century. It’s the fourth largest in the UK and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The National Trust’s Nattershall Castle is 14 miles away, a striking red brick castle with fascinating interiors and grounds. Woodhall Spa (10 miles) is a charming village with Edwardian character and RAF heritage, as well as shops and places to have a holiday mooch. Or simply discover the surrounding countryside, without worrying about having to drive anywhere. The property is under 15 minutes drive to RAF Waddington, a 50 minute drive will take you to the East coast and the sites of Barney Abbey and Tupholme Abbey are close to the village. Enjoy a day spent on the Water Rail Way Cycle Path which is situated close by.
Get things off to a cracking start by entering a useful utility/boot room where you can sit on a bench to take off your wet or muddy outer garments. It also doubles as the laundry. Moving through to the kitchen/diner, this has been fully refurbished and boasts all the mod cons, should you wish to self-cater on your break. Four can eat comfortably at the modern table and chairs while discussing the day gone by before brewing a warm drink at the coffee-making station, crafted from an upcycled Singer sewing machine bench. After dinner, curl up with a good book or watch the Smart TV in the comfortable lounge beside the wood burner-effect electric fire. When it’s time for bed, the sleeping accommodation upstairs offers useful flexibility, with one double bedroom with lots of storage space and two single bedrooms with characterful sloping ceilings. A family bathroom features a shower over the bath.
Outside, you have the benefit of a gated and secure garden, which is reassuring if you have a dog in tow. There is also a table with bench seating. As well as lots of roadside parking, this holiday home has gated, private parking for one car.
