My boyfriend and I enjoyed this spacious and unique building that we called home for 5 days in Hawaii. It's not so off-the-beaten path that we couldn't drive to town for supplies and restaurants, but it was private enough to enjoy our own view of the ocean. The home was very well appointed (nice appliances, comfortable bed, nice linens/towels), organized (easy to find things we needed - beach chairs, laundry amenities, notes where needed), and very clean. We felt 'at home' in the setting and much preferred this over a hotel! Note that with the metal roof, you'll notice noises (e.g. birds, rain) that you normally wouldn't with a conventional roof, but we thought it was charming more than a nuisance. Sleep time was quiet and largely peaceful.
A neighbor mentioned the 'back way' to some nice trails up the road and we got some great photos of the ocean near the botanical gardens - it's worth taking a ride because it's so close. Overall, the street is quiet and taking in the ocean view from the back of the home is a highlight! The home's location was just far enough from the airport that we didn't hear the planes but also close enough that it wasn't too long a trek for our early morning flight home.
We were the first renters of this property so the only constructive feedback we have is the following: make future renters aware of the exterior surveillance camera (some kind of note would suffice), leave the wifi password in clear view, and make sure the hot water heater is turned on before renters arrival :-)
Thank you for having us and for the lovely gift of chocolates! Mahalo!
