Stay somewhere genuinely different at Leonard’s Lookout, a spacious four-bedroom cave house near Orce in rural Granada. Much of the home is set into the hillside, creating the quiet, sheltered atmosphere that makes traditional Andalusian cave houses so distinctive.
Step inside and the pace immediately changes. The cave rooms feel calm, comfortable and cocooning, with thick walls, characterful spaces and a sense of separation from the heat and noise of everyday life. This is not simply a conventional holiday house in the countryside; staying within the cave is a memorable part of the experience.
The house sleeps up to eight guests in four double bedrooms and has three bathrooms, including a private ensuite. There are three comfortable lounge areas, a separate dining room, a fully equipped kitchen and a dedicated laundry room. Families, couples and groups have plenty of room to spend time together while still finding their own quiet corner. Up to two small, well-behaved dogs are also welcome, subject to a small pet fee.
Outside, the front terrace opens onto broad views across the surrounding mountains and countryside. Here you will find the private four-person spa, outdoor seating and space to eat, relax or simply watch the light change across the landscape.
Fast Starlink Wi-Fi is available throughout the house and outdoor areas, making Leonard’s Lookout suitable for longer stays as well as shorter escapes.
The property sits within the Granada UNESCO Global Geopark and provides a base for exploring Orce, Galera, Huéscar and the wider landscapes of northern Granada. The surrounding area offers traditional villages, local restaurants, walking routes, archaeological sites and inland lakes.
A car is essential. This is a genuinely rural location rather than a resort, so shops, restaurants and attractions require a short drive.
After dark, the location becomes even more special. Under clear, moonless skies, and at the appropriate times of year, the Milky Way can be seen with the naked eye stretching overhead. Guests can stargaze directly from the terrace, while astrophotographers bringing their own equipment can make use of outdoor power and Wi-Fi. Leonard’s Lookout remains a private holiday home rather than an observatory.
This stay will particularly suit guests who value unusual accommodation, mountain views, quiet evenings and the chance to experience an authentic Andalusian cave home away from crowded tourist resorts.
