We brought our 2 dogs & they loved the huge yard!! We walked down to the beautiful overlook at the back of the property several times a day. Such a beautiful spot to sit & reflect. I saw a red tail hawk up close & personal there!
None of the TVs worked, nor the DVD players, so if you want to go somewhere to veg in front of a TV, this isn’t your cabin.
But, my husband & I are starving artists, so we had a great time painting rocks while we were there. I painted one with a ladybug (see if you can find it) & left it on the property. (We saw quite a few lady bugs there).
Just such a well-needed quiet getaway for us. It’s quiet, the cabin is lovely inside, but there are no open cabinets in which to put groceries that you bring with you.
Also, there were a lot of broken mini blinds, so I had to put pieces of paper in the windows so that no one would be able to peer in.
Don (the owner) always made himself available if we had questions, & after we left we discovered my husband had left his medications there. Don called us BEFORE we realized my hubby left them there to let us know, & he very promptly sent them in the mail to us. We couldn’t have gotten a more attentive & compassionate host.
There are 2 little grocerettes that we found where you can get food staples, pillows, bedding, charcoal, etc in & there are 2 local gas stations with the cheapest gas we’ve seen in a long time!!
If you’re looking for a place to “run away” from the trappings of society…this is your cabin! This little cabin is a wonderful place to stay, & we plan to be back on our Anniversary!! We wish we could just live there!!
